“Day Pass is the Way to Go!”

Rather than spend a bunch of money on Carnival excursions, I opted to take my family to the British Colonial Hilton for a relaxing day at the beach. The cost was less than most of the beach excursions offered by Carnival and my family LOVED it. The property was luxurious and elegant and the staff outstanding. Especially Geniece, the manager of the outside bar & grill. The food was fantastic. The pool was fantastic. The view of the harbor was fantastic. My son saw a sting ray! I napped in one of the breezy cabanas...

If crowds aren't your thing and aren't interested in Atlantis, this is definitely for you. We're planning another cruise next year and plan on coming back to the British Colonial Hilton!

“Told i was getting a sea view room and ended up with a view of mcdonalds!”

Nice hotel. Great location tight by te downtown stores and where the cruise ships dock. About a 5-7 min drive to atlantis. Small private beach and pool. This is a business hotel not a resort so pick accordingly. But nice comfy room except i was dissapointed with the city view. 10 dollars a day to valet park which was fine for unlimited in and out. Nice classy lobby. Very friendly staff and concierge.
We actually rented a car and drove here no issues at all. Driving is easy in nassau like one main road except you drive on the other side.

Did the day pass thing in atlantis which was awesome. Dont leave nassau without it.

Had lunch at the dube restaurant at one and only which was an amazing experience.

“Wonderful stay!!”

My husband and I are here escaping the cold midwestern winter, and have really enjoyed our stay here at the British Colonial Hilton. We would highly recommend the small additional charge for the Executive Floor that serves breakfast, tea and evening cocktails. We've met so many wonderful people from around the world over a glass of wine!

Donna and the housekeeping staff on the 6th floor have been marvelous!!! They seem to really enjoy making our Hilton experience wonderful.

Since the beach view is mainly the small harbor, I was a bit worried about the outdoors. Seeing the enormous cruise ships come in right before our eyes has been a real treat. The newly appointed lounge chairs are comfy and the bar service has been great.

We will plan to return in the future. Thank you British Colonial Hilton!!!

“Gunshot holes above main entrance.????”

Even thoughq the hotel is overpriced, that's par for the course in the Caribbean islands I believe. The shocking thing was seeing 3 gunshot holes to the left of the main entrance"..maybe 15 feet up. There is rampant crime on the island as the economy is getting hammered, so if u do go to nassau...be extremely cautious as u do in any metro city.
Bay street is extremely dangerous when the sun goes down...only a few blocks from the hotel is the ghetto in behind the grey cliff hotel."..do not.....ran into several crack addicts a block from the hotel....be careful"...more so if you have small children in tow. Not really a pleasant atmosphere, even the locals warned me...don't u walk Dow bay street nighttime...u be get stabbed for udr shoes or a few dollars.

“Always a great stay at the British Colonial Hilton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We have been repeat visitors to Nassau Bahamas from Edinburgh Scotland since 2007 and always stay at the British Colonial Hilton, during which time we have seen the hotel develop and upgrade to what it is today. We stayed for 7 nights vacation from 27th January on an 'Executive' package and found the service perfect for our needs. True you pay a bit more up front for that class of booking but the combination of complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea with snacks and evening drinks and canapes really avoids all those little expensive extras throughout the day and gives a good flow to your schedule if you need an excuse to extract yourself from sun bathing on the excellent private beach. The beach is well maintained and managed, as well as providing a first class vantage point for watching the cruise ships enter and leave Nassau harbour. We would recommend this hotel for any class of visitor. It is friendly, well staffed, well located for downtown Nassau and provides a safe environment for all. We will be back in Nassau again in the coming months and will, all being well, be back at the British Colonial Hilton.

Room Tip: Go for a harbour/ocean view room - though these can cost more than city views.
