“Tried to stay positive, resented the "Resort Fee's" charged at check-in”

Now I am positive that I will NEVER return, or use another Wyndham hotel. The staff needs to be trained in Customer Service 101. I am not sure if it is an "Island Thing" or if it is because the gratuity is included in everything. Everything. Terrible service. Terrible. My time is valuable...I was paying to be there, they were getting paid. The entire property is run down. The rooms are musty for the age of the curtains and old spills on the carpets. The pool was colder than the ocean, the private beachfront was little more than a kiddie pool full of ocean debris. There are broken windows, torn carpets, and trip hazards everywhere.

Shame on Wyndham AND Starbucks.

Room Tip: Plan ahead for deisel fumes from the construction, and no view if you don't get in the casino to...

“Bahama Treasure”

On a recent trip to Nassau (Through Bookit.com) we stayed five nights at the Wyndham Crystal Palace Resort & Casino. The room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we grabbed a snack (and rum drink) at the outdoor restaurant. When we returned to the desk, the clerk had upgraded our room to an ocean view with private balcony! We were very pleased with the accomodations and friendliness of the staff. There is no wireless in the rooms- rather there is a lobby for computer access. The restaurant prices were a little steep, so we breakfasted on Starbucks at the beach. The pool & slide are beautiful. The beach & view was amazing! The #10 bus passes the hotel frequently- for trips to downtown Nassau, Paradise Island or Fish Fry at Arawak Cay.
The casino is small, compared to Vegas. But plenty of entertainment- between bands in the 2nd floor club, Manager's Happy Hour at the beach, and casino games.
The only negative thing I would say is that the beds could use an upgrade.
It was quiet and right on the ocean. There is a connecting hallway to the Sheraton next door. Watch out for steep ATM fees.
We did not spend $$ on the skidoos or parasailing or snorkeling. We did enjoy a day at Atlantis, which was a good deal for the price. Not impressed with downtown Nassau, or the famous Straw Market.
The vacation was for ocean, relaxation and sun. It certainly exceeded our expectations in those departments! And the local Bahamian people are some of the friendliest and sweetest folks around! I would stay at this property again.

Room Tip: Corner/ oceanside rooms are lovely. Quiet and the view can't be beat!

“Do yourself a favor and don't stay here”

This is one of the worst properties in the Western world. The property just keeps getting
worse and worse. They serve rotgut whiskey in the casino and charge an arm and leg for
it. They advertise $ 5 blackjack which they offer for maybe 2 or 3 hours each week when
no one is there. Cannot imagine how Wyndham lets them keep the franchise.
They are building a new place but that will take years -- they must be trying to pay for
it now by charging excessive prices for slop!

Room Tip: You want ocean view but the rooms are still terrible.

“Needs improvement in many areas”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My sister and I arrived and got lost finding our room. Upon our arrival, we saw a man that had fallen from the 2nd floor escalator and was face down and bleeding. The paramedics were there, but it was an uncomfortable first impression.

The hotel layout is large and outdated, I nicknamed this the Miami Vice hotel because of the outdated gold trim. The hotel itself is in poor shape and needs painting, repairs to the ceiling, and new carpeting.

The food was definitely nothing exceptional. Every single time you order something, they automatically add in gratuity. So, we often left the hotel to eat elsewhere. Watch out, every single time you take a taxi anywhere it is $15-20 a ride which I found to be a bit ridiculous since everything is about 7 miles away.

We often went to the Sheraton because there were more people there along with better music. Although, if you are outside at the Wyndam bar, go see Diego. His energy was great and definitely made my experience a bit better at the Wyndam.

I would have given this hotel a "Terrible" rating except for the fact that the rooms were clean and nicely set up. Also, my sister left her camera at the hotel and was able to recover it.

There are a lot of extended stay travelers for work. We did not really see any young people our age. Mostly, families and an older crowd in their 40's-50's.

Personally, I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: If selecting this hotel, I would suggest an ocean view.

“Not as bad as the reviews say”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

The hotel does need many renovations im not gonna lie.The room we where soposed to get was horriable. So we upgraded for 200$ extra to a ocean view suite. It was a nice room with a nice view of the ocean. The jacuzzi was broken in the room.So was the pullout couch.I almost forgot the hotel charged us a "resort fee" of 38$ a night. We were very upset about that.Theres no kids pools. The staff was great. My daughter fell one day and hurt her hand. The staff was very concerned and helped us greatly. They also checked on my daugher several times.

Room Tip: Choose a ocean view room!
