“Perfect for the Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I was looking for a place to stay in Cruz Bay for a couple of nights and I didn't want to spend a fortune. I simply wanted a place that was close, safe, clean and friendly. Having stayed in "budget" accommodations around the world, my expectations were not that high to start. With that said, the Inn outperformed my expectations and its cost across the board. My room was clean, the a/c worked, the shower was hot and the windows were screened to keep the bugs out. I got good night's sleep both nights. The location is perfect and the restaurant is great too (Asian Night? Try the Crab Rangoon). The Inn's a very short walk from Cruz Bay; close enough without being too close. As other reviewers have noted, it's not the Ritz, but it delivers far more than what you pay.

However, what really sets this place apart are the people who run it; they've got their finger on the pulse of the island and make you feel instantly welcome and part of the local community. The manager, Stephanie, was helpful, friendly and welcoming. Amy was incredible behind the bar and on the Ipod. If you want a tourist trap, this place isn't for you. However, if you want to experience the real Cruz Bay and a little taste of real island life, don't pass up the chance to stay here.

“What a fun place--it is the essence of St. John”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The top floor rooms are the best--rain on the tin roof at night is a great sleep inducer and the roosters crowing in the morning reminded me that I was in the Caribbean. This small Inn is within easy walk of downtown Cruz Bay and all the nightlife. The restaurant and bar are a favorite of the locals and the food was outstanding for such an out-of-the-way place. The staff made me feel welcomed and went out of their way to see that I had a good time. I also highly recommend the Sadie Sea charter boat for snorkeling or exploring the reefs. Their captain and crew are outstanding. Altogether it was a wonderful trip for my first time to St. John.

Room Tip: This hotel is hidden away but within walking distance of downtown. The restaurant is pure island wi...

“Everything we Needed, Exactly what we Expected.”

My wife and I were looking for a place to stay for one night and didn't want to spend more than we had to. The Inn is just about the most convenient place to be - a 2 minute walk from the Ferry and the lion share of the restaurants, shopping and bars in Cruz Bay. It's not a luxury hotel - if that's what you're looking for than stay at the Westin. We needed a clean room with a bathroom, nice shower and that's exactly what we received. The Inn serves a nice breakfast as well.

website quoted price @120, was charged @140,supposed to be the wedding package deal, bed was hard, you could feel the coil springs ,room was dirty, cobwebs in corners, ceiling fan covered with dust, under bed had not been swept or mopped, bath room totally out of date.
Watch out for bar service, was overcharged on Wednesday night, had 1 beer, 5 rum punches charged $84,should have been $38,Amy refused to help. Breakfast included hairs in the over easy eggs, next day hairs in complementary coffee. no refrigerators, microwaves, etc.Owner very friendly, office staff helpful, coolers, beach towels, chairs available, very convenient location

Room Tip: stay up front,or listen to dogs barking, trash trucks, traffic noises

“Best Deal On Island--Loved It!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

If you're seeking clean, secure and convenient BUDGET accommodations, you've found the best deal on the island. I stayed here in December for 5 nights, and loved it!

I did a ton of research, and narrowed my choices down to Maho's eco-cottages and this inn. My decision was based on my preferences and recent reviews, and the Inn exceeded all my expectations.

At check-in, I was informed there was no cable in my single room. So, the manager (Stephanie) surprised me with an early Christmas gift (a FREE upgrade to a queen & private bath).

Nice, large room with clean linen. Bamboo furniture with island feel. Cable TV. Daily housekeeping available. I preferred the ceiling fan, fresh air and sleeping to song birds over the A/C. No street noise, and a dog's seldom barking was not an issue. Free wifi & nightly bugs in courtyard. No wifi or bugs in room. Although my room was an exceptional value, I felt the single rooms with shared bath at $75/nt +tax were a bit too expensive.

Walk to supermarkets, shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. Hike to Honeymoon beach. Taxi to Cinnamon beach then taxi over to Trunk beach to compare. Take $1 Vitran bus to Coral Bay and explore & dine.

I recommend Starfish's bakery, watching both USVI tourist TV stations, taking the 2.5 hour island tour ($25), and the Beach Bar for live entertainment.

To summarize, I have nothing but high praise for both managers (Stephanie & Gina). Friendly, FIVE-STAR service. Thanks for making my stay a pleasant experience!

Room Tip: Request a room with a mini fridge.
