We just got back from Bolongo :( We went with our 4 children (11, 9, 6 and 2) grandma and her husband. 8 of us total. What a blast!!! Yes, the rooms are dated and could use some updating, especially the bathroom, but it was clean. We are complete neat freaks, so coming from us means a lot! Within 2 days the whole staff knew us and were so friendly and accomodating. Laura, in the gift shop, set up our excursion to the British Isle of Tortola. It went so smoothly and was so much fun swimming with dolphins. O'Neal, Bolongo's own taxi driver was so nice, informative and always early to pick us up and drop us off. OK, and the "sand fleas" are fine, as long as you either go in during dusk and dawn, or use bug spray OR a tip from the fabulous bartenders....a little gin on your skin repels them ;) Our two boys, the youngest have sensitive skin and were just fine, since we did either option, go in or bug spray! Don't let people scare you away from this little gem! Food was great, drinks even better. The Ritz was just a little more expensive and the Marriott less, but we wouldn't even re-evaluate. Bolongo is the way to go! The beach and pool were NEVER crowded, you felt like you had your own little piece of the Carribean all to yourself. OH...and yes, IGGY's can get loud, fortunately for us, our rooms were beachfront, right by the pool, so we had absolutely no issues with noise, but if traveling with small children or light sleepers, I would request being farthest away. Thanks Grammie/Mom for an unforgettable vacation. We can't wait to go back to Bolongo! Winter 2013?!
