“Private owned condo amazing. Resort not what it says it is.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We rented from a couple that own their condo in the resort. We stayed there from Jan 5/12 to Jan19/12.

Their condo was awesome. Great view. clean, all the amenities and very private. The reason it was private was because there was nobody else there. Our 10 unit condo saw 1-2 other people the entire two weeks. The people in the condo beside us were very upset and felt misled. No restaurants, no food, were dropped off in a taxi and being older felt hung out to dry as even walk to the main office was a little mountainous. For them to rent a car and drive on the wrong side of the road was not an option and getting taxi service was very frustrating and unpredictable.

Both restaurants were not open so if you dont come prepared to cook your own meals or go out your SOL. We enjoy cooking and had a grill on our balcony so we went out every day (YOU HAVE TO RENT A CAR OR YOUR SOL) and got fresh fish, veggies etc. The 3 pools are nice looking but smaller then our pool at home. We loved the view from the balcony. Sipping on mixed drinks overlooking the bay with the grill heating up. We were not there for wild themed resort nights or loud bashing music. So it worked for us.

Beaches
Pineapple beach next door is dirty and sits on an abandoned closed down resort and the water is not swimable. The walk to Coki beach is short and really the only nice beach that is in walking distance. Its great unless there is more then 1 cruise ship in town and there can be up to 7 in which case go over after 3pm. It does have great snorkelling and a nice local flavour to it. Linquist Beach is a short drive or 1.5 mountainous dangerous walk. Very nice but bring your own drinks and food. Nothing for sale there. Again you must have a car here. You cannot rely on taxis and definately not their "shuttles".

When we left there was a new restaurant about to open called Jacks (replacement to Fungis) and we were a little upset we missed its opening as it does have some potential to be a nice place right on the water.

If your going there for a action filled lots of amenites holiday, DONT. If your going there for a quiet getaway and dont mind doing your own cooking and shopping and driving with little people around, its excellent. Thats why we voted it average. Great for some horrilble for others.

Room Tip: Look for private renters like we did.

“Horrible!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Checked into this condo/hotel last Thursday for a 2 night stay after being on a sailboat for a week. We already checked in and went to our room. I asked the bellman where was the restaurant, was told it was under constuction. I then asked about the second restaurant and bar, was told it too was under construction. We walked down to use the pool and it was surrounded by workers using electrical saws and hammering away, the pool full of sawdust. So, we walked to the beach, which was advertised as a beautiful beach, and found it to be the size of a postage stamp. It could fit only the 2 beach chairs and they were torn and floating in the water. When we complained about all of the issues, we were told that they we're under construction. Duh!!!
I wanted a full refund and was told no they could only refund 1 nights worth, which I am still waiting to be posted to my CC account. I went to a carribbean resort and couldn't eat, drink or swim!!!! What a waste.
Even without a full refund, we checked out and went to The Elysian Resort a few miles away and had a wonderful stay at better rates.
STAY AWAY FROM PT. PLEASEANT RESORT!!!

“awesome views, nice and very helpfull staff”

We stayed in B7, very nice. We had a beautiful view from our balacony. The staff were very accomadating to our needs. It was a steep climb to get up to the office and one pool area from where we were, but we didn't mind the exercise. We were dissappointed that the restaurants were closed. The young lady that checked us in did not inform us of that. Our bell man was gracious enough to tell us and also the offer to be shuttled to the next resort to eat. The pools were really nice and very quiet. We got snorkeling equipment and kayaks from the activities directors. We visited Coki beach, very different and was advised not to go at night. We were also lead out by one of the locals. Visited Magans Bay, first class place. Water was like going in the bath it was so warm. Beautiful color and not so busy when we were there. It was a very expensive place the Virgins Islands, but sooo!!! beautiful.

Room Tip: Higher floors there is no noise above you, but no shade on the balcony for us in morning or afternoo...

“Great Views - Quiet & Relaxing Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We stayed in B1, had great views, with a nice location only a short walk to a small but quaint beach. Rooms were comfortable. I was surprised and disapointed to find out that the two resaurants that are on site were closed, even though they were used in their ads. To compensate they offered free shuttle service to dine at the expensive restaurants at Sugar Beach Resort next door. Maidservice was limited and took care of essentials only. Taxi service and shuttle service was excellent, but we did rent a car for part of our trip to explore on our own. Staff was friendly.

“Not As Advertised”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Both restaurants are closed, the grey water system empties into the bay so you cannot snorkel due to no visibility + full of sting rays, Adjacent Pinapple beach is closed off with a high fence, Sugar beach is 90% underwater at high tide, 75% underwater the rest of time, no water activities due to no beach access, pool water is not clear, slimmy bottoms, staff are unresponsive and rude except for Charlie the shuttle driver, pathways are not kept up (75 steep steps to beach, many broken - moldy and slippery), overflowing large garbage bins, dog food and droppings everywhere, absolutely have to have a car (local buses are wonderful, but 1km almost straight up from front gate too difficult). Resort is 40 years old and it looks like it has not been painted since it was built, cockroches, ants and worms in kitchen. I know it is budget, but there are other budget places around for almost the same money. Try Sugar Beach Resort next door, at least it is clean.

Room Tip: Close to main office to eliminate some of the steep steps
