Located at the East end of the island approximately 30 mins. from the airport. We did not rent a car so we were at the mercy of the taxi service. However, Joseph is usually available with his taxi at the front desk so there is not too long a wait. Upon arrival to the room, there were no towels. We called and housekeeping sent over a bag of towels. We had a studio double which was tight and did not have any place to cook. We had to wash our own dishes in a tiny sink. The bathroom/sink area was not too clean. Hair in the sink, dirt under it, in the shower a used bar of soap was left on the window sill. These were the negatives, now for the nice things about the place: beautiful weather, beautiful setting on the beach and at the pool. These areas were very well maintained. We bought a few items at the mart (very expensive: $9 for two cans of soda and 2 candy bars), ate at the restaurant (Happy Hour was fun). I am a Wyndham owner so I used my points for this resort. The "concierge" ( a person sitting in a hut on the beach) booked us on a dinner sunset cruise, a little pricey for what you get, but still nice. We took an morning island tour because we were told it would last 3 hrs.; it turned into a 6-hr. trip because we were dropped in the downtown area to shop. All in all, everything worked out well for us, but I will try to look for something else in the future in this area.

Room Tip: Wyndham only owns 69 rooms which are not in the best location of the resort. Also, there are steps...

I was not impressed with this resort. Then again, you get what you pay for. The wireless Internet service did not work well in my room, but was okay on the beach. The staff were reasonably pleasant. The beach was crowded, and the ocean view was obstructed by all of the boats anchored in the sea (about fifty). I would not advise someone not to come, but, if you do, do NOT expect great accommodations. On a general note, there are a lot of hills and stairs on St Thomas, including this resort, so be prepared to get your heart rate elevated!

“Relaxing”

Rooms have been nicely renovated. Most with flat screen TV's, granite countertops, etc. Pool area at night is inviting. Quiet location for relaxing either at the pool or the beach. A rental car is nice to have to get groceries, tour, etc. We had a full kitchen so it was nice to be able to prepare some of your meals. On-site restaurant was still being renovated and is scheduled for opening in mid January, 2012. There was the beach bar for light entrees. A nice resort for relaxing on the east end of the island away from the hustle of downtown.

Room Tip: Lots of stairs, not a problem for most people; however, if you have mobility issues ask for a room o...

“Good and Bad”

To start with the good. The pool and the hot tub make this resort. At night they are simply amazing! A good time to go is around 11pm to midnight. You will have the entire area to yourself. The rooms are average size with a nice balcony. My only issue was the fact that when we checked into our room the tv was broken, the shower bar missing, and when we turned on the light we got shocked. Also the front desk is not 24 hours which was a problem when it came time to leave in the morning and call a cab. Overall, there are probably better places to stay in Red Hook or St. Thomas as a whole.
