I have stayed in a couple of hostels...and they seemed like the Waldorf Astoria in comparison to Villa Olga. This establishment needs an injunction, or they need to lower the daily rate to $20 per night. At least then you would get what you pay for. In case I wasn't clear about how poorly the property was maintained, let me be frank. It was beyond disgusting. We were shown multiple rooms, all of which had an overbearing mildew odor probably as a result of the old carpet which looked like it hadn't been changed since 1972. The towels were moldy, the beds didn't have a mattress pads or fitted sheets, the bathroom fixtures were missing, etc. I could go on about the inside of the rooms. The exterior was equally deplorable. The facade was in dire need of reconstruction. The wooden stairs and platforms needed to be replaced. I feared slipping through the cracks. The pools was dirty and the outside bar was dusty. We were there for New Year's Eve, during peak season...but nothing was highly recommendable about this place. I want my money back and then some for the mental shock I experienced. This place should be shut down or converted to a kennel. I can't make this stuff up.
