“Top B&B with breath-taking view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at Bella Vista in november 2012 and couldn't have been more happy. Wendy was a wonderfull hostess, attentive to every detail and sharing insight-full and good advice about activities, tours and restuarants on the island and in the town of Charlotte Amalie. The daily breakfasts were spectacular, tasty small pieces of art, home cooked by Wendy every morning. The overall atmosphere in the b&b was cosy and friendly - Wendy's attentiveness to her guests makes it a place were you feel at home right away. Location-wise the b&b has a breath taking view of the port of Charlotte Amalie, while only being a few minutes walk from the center of town.

“Charming!”

The owner, Wendy Snodgrass, really makes this place: she's charming and her charm spreads throughout the B&B. My wife and I stayed in the smallest of the four rooms, but found it entirely satisfactory. The patio, balcony, swimming pool, gardens, and living and dining rooms are very comfortable and tended to be the place we hung out. There's a fine collection of books, from local guidebooks, histories and novels to regular beach reading. Breakfasts were very well done--even a bowl of homemade tropical granola when I had to leave very early for a flight. You can walk down sets of stairs right into the middle of the shopping district in Charlotte Amalie, and there's room to park a rental car if you have one. We look forward to going back!

“Recent Stay at Bellavista”

Bellavista is a wonderful B&B. We stayed six nights and enjoyed it very much. This is a beautiful place that is walking distance to town. It has magnificent views of the harbor, attractive rooms, and extraordinary breakfasts. Wendy and Doug are delightful hosts who make you feel at home and also provide a lot of information about restaurants, activities and places to see. We are recommending this B&B to everyone who is considering staying in St. Thomas.

“Our new favorite place to go...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

This is a really lovely place to stay - great hosts, Wendy and Doug, who bend over backwards to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The B&B is very pretty, Wendy is a great guide to the island and it's in a good location with easy access to the town. It's relaxed, pleasant and ideal for a break from the crazy pace of life up north. We heartily recommend the Bellavista...we'll come back for sure! L & T.

Room Tip: We had the Coquille Collage room and it was very pretty.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

There aren't enough words to describe how much we loved Bellavista. I would give it a 6 out of 5 if I could. Wendy is an amazing host, always around with insider information about places to visit or restaurants to try. She will call you a cab, and give you the numbers of her top 3 drivers so there is no guessing when you try to get home later. Since we were the only people staying that weekend, it felt as though we had a whole villa to ourselves. We could sit on the private deck of our Bambooshay room, or lay out on the pool deck, watching the cruise ships. In the evening when we were too exhausted to do anything else, there was a TV at our disposal.

The B&B is very close to town, with shopping and dining withing walking distance. The only con is having to hike back up the hill and some stairs to get back after a day of shopping or sightseeing.

Wendy, Doug, and Mocha all made our stay incredibly fun, relaxing, and memorable. It was so beautiful, we even got engaged there! I highly recommend the Bellavista B&B and hope that we can return again and again in the future!
