Our first impression of the hotel was very friendly, service-oriented staff. The property has beautiful gardens and the rooms are meticulously maintained.
The pool and beach have ample seating and the view is beautiful. It was refreshing to be at a resort where there were more lounge chairs than people; no need to claim a chair first thing in the morning, which seems common elsewhere. The staff are very attentive and the poolside drinks are great.
We enjoyed the cold brunch buffet at Bluewater restaurant, lunches at Sails, and suppers at the Great Bay Lounge. The food was very good and in my opinion the prices are in keeping with the ambiance and level of service. The Bluewater patio at night is very romantic, with torchlights and views of island lights in the distance.
One minor complaint was pretty tight restriction where guests are allowed to take the water equipment (kayaks, windsurfers etc). They basically want you to stay in a small area directly in front of the equipment loan place. We're active and would like to have gone a little further. I guess they have lost too many tourists! However, at other resorts we have been given a little longer leash.
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton for a few days prior to leaving for home (we were returning from St. John). It was a perfect place to kick back for a few days and enjoy the view.
