“Turks and Caicos Club”

My wife and I traveled to T& C from January 21st until January 28th. We stayed at the Turks and Caicos club on the western part of Grace Bay. The accomodations were perfect. We had a 2nd floor ocean front room with a large balcony. The view of the ocean was perfect. The turquoise water is something to behold. We have traveled extensively all over the Caribbean and the water here seems to be more breath taking than anywhere elce in the Caribbean.

The hotel itself is 21 rooms. We stayed in a one bedroom King with all the amenities of home. Full kitchen with all utensils, washer dryer and a full sized bathroom. It was convenient as we cooked a couple of meals in the room and enjoyed cocktails on the balcony. The T&C club was well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful with any request. Thank you Mayra, Roger Dodger, Abdul, Stanley, Rebecca and the rest of the wonderful staff.

We did rent a car to get out to explore the island. Quite easy to get around and convenient to have to shop and drive to restaurants. We ate at Shark BItes a few nights(very good), Baci(excellent food), poor service, Seven Star resort on the beach, name escapes me, though food was very good. Shopped at IGA for groceries and did some shopping for grandkids at the Salt Mills.

Weather was terrific. Sunny and 81 degrees daily except for Tuesday, 79 with passing clouds. We had left Boston with snow falling. The Plane(JetBlue Airlines) was deiced and 31/2 hours later we landed and were on the beach an hour later.

All in all a terrific vacation. Turks and Caicos is not cheap but that is no secret. Grace Bay area is 2nd to none. We hope to return soon and stay here again.

“Fantastic Stay at TCC”

My wife and I travelled here from 1/26 through 1/30 (I am sitting on the couch in the room as I write this, sadly we leave in a few minutes) and cannot speak more highly of the resort, the beach, and the staff. We were greeted by the obligatory rum punch on check-in by Abdul, who was helpful with any request we made for the duration of our stay. A few bullet points:

- Some have grumbled about the lack of dinner availability or the lack of selection on the menu, but it wasn't a negative for us. We never had to wait for a table, we were consistently pleased with the food, and this resort only has 21 rooms...not enough of a guest population to support a comprehensive menu or an expensive dinner service. There are plenty options available close by for dinner!

- The rooms were well appointed, with a tropical island vibe, which was just exactly what we wanted (absolutely no issues with any insects, which can always be a risk in the tropics). The bed was quite comfortable. We stayed in an oceanfront one bedroom suite on the ground floor. At first we worried that we would prefer an upper floor for a nicer view, but came to rather enjoy the convenience of being able to walk right off the patio to the beach, and the view was perfect as it was.

- The staff, from Abdul and Hendrika at the front desk, to Mayra at the bar, to Roger at the beach, were attentive without being fussy, and always had a smile on their faces. You could ask them for anything, and they made it happen. Drinks were very well done at the bar, as well.

- We have been lucky to see many islands in our time even though we are still fairly young (I 31, my wife 29), and this is easily the most breathtaking stretch of sand and water we have experienced.

- The snorkeling at Bight Reef was amazing, just steps down the beach, and easy enough that two EXTREMELY novice snorkelers were able to enjoy it quite well.

- Some people might want to rent a car, but my wife and I found it perfectly fine to walk to several restaurants (Somewhere, Mango Reef, plenty of places to eat at Turtle Cove). We took a cab to Da Conch Shack (excellent, by the way), and decided to spend some time walking along the beach back toward our hotel from Blue Hills. You can NOT walk home from Da Conch Shack. Well, you CAN, but it took us over two hours, we had to swim across a channel (while my wife held her iPhone over her head out of the water), spend a lot of time walking over rocky ocean floor, then balance beam walk over several boulders around the inlet at Turtle Cove. We did see some amazing deserted beaches, some fun wildlife, and walk through the ruins of an old house beside a cave at Turtle Cove. And my wife also did this while wearing her wedge heels. I was impressed, but by the time we made it back, we were quite tired and a little sunburned!

All in all, I would rate this place 6 stars if Tripadvisor would allow it. I can't recommend it more wholeheartedly to those who want perhaps the most incredible beach in the world to be the focus of their vacation, and those who value very nice and reasonably priced (for Provo, anyway) accommodations in a more laid back atmosphere. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so ideal!

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms are quite convenient to the beach, and the patios are large with ample seating. How...

“Relaxing boutique hotel with beautiful simple charm”

My husband and I just stayed 4 nights after finding this hotel on the Internet. It has only 20 suites but is immaculately clean, lovely layout and no competition for seats at the pool or for the beach umbrellas. It is at the end of beach closest to Turtle Cove, so quieter than the large hotels, yet this is exactly what makes it relaxing and intimate. We enjoyed chatting with the other couples. Hotel is very short walk to one of the best snorkeling areas on the beach. Rooms are enormous, with balconies or decks facing the ocean. Hotel staff was very friendly and helped us get dinner reservations, taxis, fishing trips, etc. the one downside is the fact that the kitchen/bar closes at 4 pm everyday. Although there are plenty of nice restaurants on the island, it would have been nice to get a drink at the hotel in the evening. Perhaps they could at least keep the bar open until 8 pm? Overall, this is not a serious downside, and we would absolutely return to this fine hotel for another visit.

“Great boutique hotel among resort giants!”

My husband and I recently stayed at the Turks and Caicos Club for 7 nights and had a fabulous time. The best thing this hotel has going for it is that it feels 'tucked away' on the beach among some very busy resorts (and we were there in peak season). When we would walk on the beach in the morning we were always so thankful to come back to T&CC, where the beach was so quiet but just as beautiful as all of the others on Grace Bay. It felt like a real retreat. Our room was big with a kitchenette so we were able to make some meals on our own too - this is a good strategy since at T&CC you can't get food past 4p (this is the single downside, in our opinion). The staff is awesome, and Abdul had some really great suggestions on some fantastic tours to take, and took care of all the logistics for us. Rodger is on the beach every day and was so helpful with tips, info about the island, or simply helping us set up on the beach each morning. Overall, we really were happy with our decision to stay here and we would stay again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Rooms on first and second floor facing the ocean have very big private terrace. Second floor has bes...
