“The afterglow lingers”

Its been two weeks since we returned from our vacation. I had planned a dive trip to do the "Grand Turk wall" with my son for Christmas vacation. Our party included 4 non-divers who thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling opportunities. We booked 3 rooms at the Grand Turk Inn and by far and away this was the BEST decision I have ever made in trip planning. My wife was able to totally unwind in our spacious rooms (the Conch Cottage) and our other family members were able to do the same. Even though the Inn is located in the center of town and it was a holiday weekend you could enjoy the surf and solitude on the veranda in the evening. The beach is small and totally isolated behind the sea wall so that it was yours alone. There was great snorkling about 20 yards off shore in front of the Post Office. The breakfasts (bagel, fruit, yogurt, etc.) were perfect to get ready for the dive trips and were served in our room with a flower and Donovan's smile. However, the greatest experience of the trip, was the hospitality of Katrina and her sincere interest in having us expereince "her" island and its treasures. When we arrived we were tourist, but when we left, we were family.

“Historical house, beautiful view... excellent service”

We arrived at Grand turk at 4pm and Katrina (the owner of the Inn) was at the airport to pick us up. She is not only very knowledgable about the history of the Island, but is also very friendly and was available during our stay to answer our questions. Our room at the Inn was gorgeous. We stayed in the Flamingo suite and had our own rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean. The Inn was build in the 1830's and I really liked the historical aspect. The "room" has a complete kitchen which is ldeal if you're looking to stay for longer than a few nights. She also has bikes available to make getting around easy. I would absolutley stay there again and recommend that anyone visiting the Island to do the same.

“Personal experience at a beautiful inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Grand Turk Inn was fantastic. Katrina is a wonderful, hospitable host and Donavon was incredibly friendly and helpful. Katrina had really great input in terms of activities around the island as well as places to eat, beaches to check out and questions about the local culture. We stayed in the Pelican suite and really enjoyed being able to fall asleep to sounds of the ocean and getting refreshing cross breezes. Not to mention that the inn is beautiful - the decor is gorgeous and the space is so open and relaxing. The location is great. You're right on the water and within walking distance to a number of restaurants and beaches and the bikes provide transportation to spots a little further away. I would recommend this inn to anyone and everyone.

Room Tip: Conch Cottage is best for more privacy, as it has it's own entrance. Pelican also has a good amo...

“Decompression Heaven!”

Want the world to go away for a few days? This is your spot...
Following a long commute from the "Great White" Northwest I arrived to an urgent message informing me that my father had passed away. I did some soul searching, and rather than turn around and head home, I chose to stay. Boy, am I glad I did...
For the first 2 days I didn't leave the property. I unpacked and spent a great deal of time, either on the sun deck off my room (Flamingo) or sitting in the shade on the big wooden swing on the front porch. The only trip out was with Katrina to collect groceries to stock the fridge. Truth is, I didn't have to go anywhere as heaven was right outside my door!
On the third day Katrina asked if I was interested in going out for a dive with Blue Water Divers. I decided on a refresher dive and was picked up right on the beach by Eric and Nat. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. We even got the chance to spend several minutes observing and taking photos of an octopus! I was welcomed to join a group going out for 2 dives the following morning as well. I also went out for 2 more dives the day following that and was rewarded with a visit by a Hawksbill turtle that swam 30ft up the "Wall" right into our midst. It was so close we could have touched it!

Truth is, I could not have spent my time in a better place. I was alone, but not alone. I could choose to do what I wanted, when I wanted... Even somedays, if it was choosing to do nothing at all. I felt very welcomed and safe and would go back to the Grand Turk Inn to spend time with Katrina and Donavon in a heartbeat.

Note: The 4 rating for cleanliness was only due to the required off-season maintenance that was taking place to prepare for high-season bookings. :)

Room Tip: The Flamingo suite is awesome!

“We loved our stay!”

We loved Katrina and the Grand Turk Inn! We had come over from Provo so it was very different but it did not take long to have the island and the lovely Inn grow on us. Most of the time we stay in hotels so the Inn was very special. We stayed in the Flamingo room and really liked it. I had coffee on the deck each morning before diving and wanted to get up extra early to go out there and enjoy the vastness of the miles of ocean that is before you. Awesome! At night the sky is big and beautiful. Katrina is a wonderful innkeeper and did so much for us to settle us in and welcome us to the island. Donavan is the manager and we liked his quiet, gentle spirit. We miss you and would love to come back! Thank you so much!
