“The Arches are the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2006

We found 'The Arches' on the internet and booked direct. The owners, Wally and Cecile, were really helpful in all aspects of the booking and even booked our inter-island flights for us (at cost - no commission). What a lovely couple.

The accommodation is big, spacious, airy, light and always cool. The furniture is all in good condition and kitchens are spotless. Each place is as big as your own place back home and then some. Everything is in the house for your stay except food. You just need the clothes you travel in and a couple of pairs of shorts and T shirts to get along.

Wally and Cecile are on the location nearly all the time and are happy to give advice or directions. The whole experience was 5 Star.

“Best Place on The Island!!!!”

My wife, myself and another couple stayed at The Arches from 2 - 10 March, 2005. We Loved it! First of all, the owners (Cecile and Wally) were great. They were so friendly and went out of their way to help us out (recommendations on where to eat/shop & what sites to see. They let us use their phone to set up dives/bike rentals, they even gave us occasional rides downtown when we needed them)! It was a very relaxing and 'homey' environment.
The townhouses were very large and immaculate (Cecile keeps a clean house!). With four balconies there were plenty of fresh sea breezes and beautiful sunrise/sunsets. They have a great gazeebo and fresh water pool which was the perfect setting for cooking out, watching for "the Green Flash" at sunset, or taking a mid-day nap on the hammock. Each room has a full kitchen, coffee maker, microwave, and blender for frozen cocktails.
The people of Grand Turk were refreshingly friendly and the diving was awesome! (We used Blue Water Divers and they were kicked back, friendly and fun).
When we go back, we will definitely stay with Cecile & Wally at the Arches again!

“from the outside, deserves more than a "6" popularity”

My wife, our 4 grown children and I (staying at the Osprey Beach Hotel, popularity #1) heard about The Arches (popularity #6), and biked past it at the top of a "hill" on our ride to the lighthouse on the north end of Grand Turk.
This is a brand new place, folks !! If it wasn't important for me to be on the beach, I'd give this place a try. I don't know about cost, food, etc., but I wanted to make sure all readers know it's new. If you don't stay at the Osprey Beach Hotel, like "new" and don't choose to take a chance on other Grand Turk accomodations, this is probably your place.
I read the July 4 review written by the people from St. Louis, and The Arches sounds nice.

“The Arches-Really nice townhouses”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2004

We stayed at a place called the Arches. They were very, very, nice. Two bedroom condo (or townhouse) Unbelievably clean. And two full bathrooms; Full BIG kitchen. the whole place is big. Very, very, very big for a condo. (we have friends that own smaller condos than these) The bedrooms which were on the second floor were air conditioned but not the first floor. I thought this might be a problem but they are up on a hill and get a great breeze. (I usually die without air). They have a nice pool. The owners are really great people and went out of their way to get up some help we needed. We saved a lot of money on food by fixing some of our own food. For people who need space and want a VERY nice place, I would highly recommend the arches. (One of my daughters stayed at the island house, which was OK, but in comparison to the island house not as nice)
For people with kids—the owners LIKE kids. ( We have had some places discourage them)
The only downer would be they are not right on the beach and you will need a car-though if you are diving Oasis will pick you up (I think all the dive shops do pick up)
By the way diving was GREAT-much beteer than Provo
