“Nice Hotel on Grand Turk”

We stayed 4 days at the Osprey Beach Hotel. It is located in a good area and is convenient to everything. However, if you want to go to Margaritaville by the cruise dock, you will need to rent bikes or take a taxi. It cost $7.00/pp for one-way trip from GT airport to the hotel. The staff are very nice. Jenny answered all my emails and was very pleasant. The cleaning staff were very pleasant, too. We had daily maid service. There is a free gallon of water in each fridge on arrival but then you can refil the jug just down the street for 75 cents. The hotel is located close to some very good places to eat, as well as, the Birdcage on premises. There are several units with kitchen appliances. Some of the units face the ocean. We were in the atrium units across the street from the beach. Very nice and quiet.

Room Tip: Balcony room number 1 in the atrium has a gorgeous view of the ocean but it is not on the beach so i...

Don't expect up to date and fancy hotels in Grand Turk, but I think Osprey Beach is the closest you can get. The room was nice, kept clean, and had a rustic feel to it. We were on the second floor and had a grate view of the beach and the sunset from our balcony. The beach is one of the better ones on the island, but can get rocky if you go south of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful.

“Lovely Caribbean Hotel-on a unique island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This is a laid-back hotel right on the beach. The setting is lovely-if not updated like other resorts on other islands-it was clean & convenient to Front Street, and other attractions on Grand Turk. The restaurant is good-excellent barbecue nights-with "slow" service. Jenny, the owner, is very attentive and is always there for meal times. Also, the front desk staff was very helpful with any requests-taxi, etc. Although there is not much of a tourist infrastructure, this is a great choice for a hotel on Grand Turk.

“A rare find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Grand Turk is a unique island, and the Osprey Beach is a rare find. It provides an opportunity to experience the Caribbean as it was 20 years ago, with all of the comforts of today. A large, ocean front room in a pink building--with wi fi and AC. An outdoor restaurant surrounding a pool with good food and drink always served with a smile. Small dive boats that pick you up on the beach right in front of your room. Short rides to great diving. What could be better?

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms have an unbelievable sunset view.

“Nice, streamlined rooms and good restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

Osprey was a great homebase on Grand Turk which didn't have much tourist infrastructure. I'm an independent traveler who enjoys hitting local restaurants and exploring but this was like a laid back boutique quasi-resort experience as we spent a lot of time here. Rooms were very comfortable and I like the dark wood colonial aesthetic. I slipped out the backdoors everyday after diving to nap on the beach -- access couldn't be easier. The little back deck of every unit has was great for leaving wetsuits and gear to dry. Some ocean views were a bit obscured by the vegetation which they offered to cut (we just moved to a diff unit).

But we also had many meals here which was my initial concern as food is an important part of my vacations. The local women cooks were wonderful and I had the best grilled lobster in memory, cooked perfectly by their grill guy. There was good rotation on their small but solid menu (with 4-5 daily specials) so if we really loved something, it showed up again that week. Prices were quite reasonable and we were relieved that we didn't end up renting a guest house with kitchen -- would have cost us much more to cook. We also had excellent dinners at the Bohio dive resort -- the Guanahani had a nice atmosphere, was more expensive, and the menu was the most ambitious we saw -- excellent rack of lamb. Very out of the way though, and the Osprey rooms were nicer, but def spring for a couple of nice meals here.

Anyway, I liked the convenience of walking down the little road to hit the dive shops and have breakfast at Julies (great food plus they had an espresso machine....). I was quite happy with this hotel and liked the staff and owner as well. I don't think there was a coffee maker in the room (or maybe there was but it didn't work well....) I would have liked coffee to always be available at the bar.

Room Tip: Rooms adjacent to the restaurant probably get some noise. While the ocean view from the 2nd floor...
