“Excellent place, perfect location, almost everything you would want.”

I took my wife to Trinidad for the first time and we can't wait to go back. First, about the Gingerbread House. We awoke to home made breakfast every morning, delicious island dishes (bake and salt fish, coconut water on one occasion) and they even sent the staff out one day because I just felt like having Frosted Flakes.

The place is beautiful. It is in the perfect location just out of town but still in town. We rented a car but you could take public transportation from about a 1 minute walk away. Also, we parked right on site with no problems. The owners work in a building right behind the house so even if there is a problem (there was never a problem) you can speak to them at any time.

The island is beautiful. We went to 3 beaches, a nature center and really had a great time. I recommend staying at this location to everyone who has thought about visiting Trinidad.

Side note, try the Palori (a sort of fried, curry flavored dough) with the dipping sauce. You will not regret it.

“A home away from home”

I went to T'dad on a business trip with my colleague. It was his first time there and I must say he was quite impressed with the Gingerbread House and everything else that he experienced in his 3 days in T'dad. Being a Trinidadian myself, I was quite pleased that his first impression will be memorable. Selecting the Gingerbread House was just as I anticipated. All the pictures online are true and all the comments posted are also true. It lived up to my expectations. A home away from home, I felt at ease, Rosie was fabulous, her husband Bernard too and their daughter Natalie is a gem. Olie, the dog can't be left out. He was friendly.
I wanted a place to stay that was homely, the old time traditional homes not the usual hotel type scenario that can really get to you after a while. The gingerbread house has been kept quite well, Rosie now has 4 rooms available instead of the 3 she had before. She has made some renovations. The extra room was too modern so I was delighted with the rustic room I got. It was great! I can't wait to go back there. While there I showed it to my friend and mom, and they plan to stay there when they want to get aay from it all. The location of the gingerbread house is ideal. It is walking distance from everything and when you go, you just have to eat at El Pecos.. That's the place to be. There are two of them on the same road. I of course choose to eat at the more rustic one which offered eating outside. The other is more restaurantish..uh uh.. We walked down Ariapita Ave where everything happens at night, live outside entertainment, everything is a buzz There is no lack of fun and food and excitement. I can't wait to go back! Rosie make sure my room is ready!!

We could not have been made more welcome by Rosie and her family. The Gingerbread House is a sparkling gem of an Edwardian house in walking distance of many fabulous restaurants. Our suite was spotless and Rosie went above & beyond to make us comfortable. The other guests were all delightful and we lingered over breakfast every morning, enjoying the conversation. We have fallen in love with the Gingerbread House and its proprietors.
