My family and I overnighted at this Hotel on arrival form Tobago to connect to our early morning flight out of Port of Spain., unfortunately because of a mix-up when my cousin made the reservation for us. We wanted to stay at Airport Suites, which is also close to the Airport, however she book at Airport View Guest House.
They told her that transportation is provided to and from the Airport, however we had to pay taxi to take us from the Piarco Airport . We were told the driver was off that day and will also be off the New Year's Day, which is a holiday, we ask about a back up driver they had none. We got to the Guest House and it's at a busy intesection, with a grocery downstairs (no problem) however taxi drivers ply their trade in the front of the building so it's noisy. The rooms are on the second and third floor, with a long flight of stairs( Not suitably for the elderly or anyone with bad knees). We stayed on the second floor, we were told we got the Suite, two bedrooms which were large, and a kitchen with an assortment of dishes, but no stove, not even a table top, no fridge, (we had no phone in the room). We decided we would not use the dishes. We went to KFC and order take out dinner, and they gave us some boxes we can use as plates, a bag of ice and syroform cup, no extra charge, (very nice of the cashier). We had to walk down to the receptionist area for our calls., and to get hot water for the baby bottles. For our night and morning showers we had no water coming thru the shower head, so we had to fill a bucket in the bathroom for our showers. We also did not feel secure, because the kitchen windows (louves) had broken panes, and some were not closing , it was very accessible if someone wanted to come thru those windows.
We consoled ourselves it was only for one night, but for $472.00 TT we expected much better amenities. We checked in around 3pm and left at 2.30 am for the Airport.
