A contender for the worst hotel ever.

I went to Trinidad for Carnival and stayed at this hotel because it was the only place where I could get a room during Carnival at short notice. Thankfully I wasn't there for the accommodation and I brought my sense of humour with me. I didn't expect it to be great but I also didn't expect to have to clean my own room and make my own bed. Whilst it's in a reasonable location (albeit a little out of town) the hotel is very run down, the exterior and the gardens are a shambles, the pool is dilapidated and the interior is filthy. The management is incompetent and disorganised and most of the hotel's listed amenities don't work and you definitely wont get any hot water either. If you are strong willed enough to cajole the staff into actually doing their jobs then you might manage to get your room cleaned but don't expect them to do a thorough job of it. And don't even think about ordering a meal.

Well, I stayed here for Carnival. It was my first time in Trinidad. I shared a room with a friend of mine. The sliding glass door did not lock, good thing we were up so high because the area is not the best of areas (pretty much all of Trinidad is not a good area). The rooms were very dated. The staff was pretty friendly and always had a laugh with us because we would leave in the day to party and return the following day after the sun was up. I ate breakfast there a few times and it was okay. They did provide a laundrey service, which was extremely cheap and good. The doors to the room did not seem very secure either. There did not seem to be any security at the hotel. I would only say to stay here if this is your last option. This hotel is very dated and has probably seen better days. It is very expensive during the Carnival period.

l my experience there was mortifying. The shower curtains were moldy even after a requested that it be changed, unfortunately its was washed by the house keeper who made my breakfast how efficient. Secondly, If I am paying for breakfast in my package then I was suppose to have options in my breakfast menu instead of the routine toast and egg. Thirdly my birth night, If there was a function then I should have been advised accordingly so that I could have made the decision whether to have dinner before or after my birthday. Your employees clearly displayed their dissatisfaction as plates were thrown to us. Hand gestures and grumbling were also evident. We were not even presented with a menu, we were given the food from your function which almost killed my partner as he is allergic to pork that was "stuffed in the chicken". Lastly we ordered food that came to us uncooked on two occasions.The rooms were not clean during the time we were there.
The environment was very uncomfortable, I couldn't even relax by the pool that too was also filthy, there was no feeling of home away from home and that was clearly what I was looking for especially since my partner is a non national. I was home sick. If there were any intentions of extending my stay it was definitely relinquished. I regret not reading the Trip advisor earlier. Have u read it lately? I think you should.

My husband and i wanted to 'get away' for a weekend about a year or so and guess where we stayed.......yup! When we got there which was around 7pm the room was not ready. Never got our room until about 9. The room was mirky and smelt old. The lobby smelt old, the dining area smelt old...just about everything smelt and looked old. That night the receptionist was the bellboy who was the host at the dining area who was the chef...so imagine what we ate for dinner! We had to eat out!
We could not wait to leave the next morning and guess who was there to check us out...yours truly!
please, please, please...don't go there!!
