We stayed here for one night with our two children (9 & 11) for a turtle watching trip. We'd heard mixed reviews for both this beach and hotel but in the end we were extremely happy with both and will return for longer in the future since we now live on the island!
The hotel is set in a remote northern village on a steep sandy beach behind which rivers come down from the Northern Range forming small lagoons before cutting their way through to the sea. The two-storey hotel is right at the beach in the tree-line.
We booked a second floor room in the new annex with a veranda overlooking the beach. The room was very large with a sofa bed for the children to share. The room was clean, pleasant and nicely decorated with local art and with mosquito netting over the bed (although I didn't see any in the room:)
The restaurant served excellent local food made with locally grown produce. We've tested local food in other parts of the island and so far this hotel has provided the best although you will be paying a little extra for it.
The main reason people come here is for the turtles. However, as a relaxing retreat it is a perfect location for a weekend.
