Last year, I visited Mount St.Benedict. The ride up the mountain is picturesque. Once you get to the church, the views are spectacular. One could see the capital, Port-of-Spain, even as far as Central Trinidad which is many miles away. The environment is serene. The priests and other staff always welcome visitors of all denominations. Definitely go out there whether for a spiritual visit, or just to relax and take in the views of the mountains or the scenery.

Mount St. Benedict Monastery is probably the largest and oldest monastery in the Caribbean. It is perched on a mountain side and can be seen from the University of the West Indies.

The night sky is breath taking! Facing north, one could literally watch the stars come over the mountain.

This is a wonderful place to visit for those interested in a peaceful, prayerful visit. There is a guest house for those who wish to stay overnight.
