Very basic, but the ac works well and the pool is refreshing and the people are so very welcoming. I wouldn't "vacation" here, more a place to stay as a traveler passing through......

We stayed at Dennis' Hideway for 2 nights. It is located halfway up the biggest hill on the island. Great views from the rooms & dinning area to the SW (nice sunsets). The owner, Dennis, is a colorful guy with lots of stories and a great host. There are 4-5 other bars/restaurants near by on the hill for a little variety. One of the best beaches I visited was on the North side of the island - Saltwhistle Bay. It is around a mile from the hotel (steep road). I would also recommend a day trip to Tobago Cays for snorkeling. The hotel can help you set it up.

Our stay at Dennis' Hideway was excellent. We made our reservations directly with Dennis over the internet. Before we got there some of the people in Carriacou and Union Island looked a bit doubtful when we mentioned where we were staying. However, Dennis has really updated and redone the place. The rooms were clean, newly painted. The towels and linens were all new and there were beach towels as well as hand and bath towels! A day or two after we left Dennis was opening his new pool. The food there was very good.

Dennis is a tremendous host. Make sure you have him take you out on his yacht. I hope you don't get caught ina squall as we did - he was terrific though! Food is good.
Nothing else really on the island apart from a small upmarket resort on the other side of island where you can get lunch on the beach.
Basic accommodation but adequate. Host and hospitality more than make for basic facilities.
