“Spectacular Seaclusion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

We arrived in the middle of a stormy night, and awoke to the most spectacular view imaginable. Bob & Marie have just 2 suites to rent out, and we were lucky to be there alone, taking advantage of the three totally deserted pristine beaches, Marie's fantastic cooking, and Bob's inside knowledge of Carriacou. We had a spacious well-appointed bedroom, sunbeds on our own private deck, sea breezes at night, and not a single mosquito. It is very secluded indeed - reached via a windy rough track that stops you bothering to go anywhere else. But who needs elsewhere when you are already in paradise?

“Secluded and Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

If I could give the service section more than five stars I definitely would! Bob and Marie built the place with their own hands and all the love they put into it definitely shows! They were excellent hosts, even giving us a tour of the entire island one day when the seas were rough because they felt bad that we'd come all that way and couldn't really enjoy the beach. It was just the one day that the seas were kicked up...the rest of the time we had the beach all to ourselves! Not a soul in sight!
There is a beautiful walk from their house to the beach but be sure to bring your OFF! The only drawback was all of the bugs. :(
This place is truly secluded...even on a tiny island of 6,000 Bob and Marie still found the part that is away from everything else. There are no restaurants around but Marie has made up a menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner and will cook them all deliciously for you at your own private dining table overlooking the ocean.
This is a perfect getaway if you are looking for relaxation and seclusion. There aren't many other people around, virtually NO tourists...I think there is one little shop selling t-shirts and things on Paradise beach but that's a fifteen minute walk away (worth visiting though, it's beautiful too.)
Seaclusion doesn't have hot water (but it's not freezing) and there is no a/c which isn't really a problem except that we found it hard to keep moths and little buggers out of the room completely at night (even though all the windows are screened in, they still find a way!)
I went with my boyfriend and it was perfect for the kind of vacation we were looking for. Bob and Marie are excellent hosts (and yes, they HOST you...you're not just a number at a big hotel!). We like to think of it as luxurious five star camping. hehe :)

“5 Star Treatment in Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2010

On my first business trip to the Caribbean from Asia, I searched for a safe place to get away from it all for a couple of days. I discovered Seaclusion Suites on the tiny Island of Carriacou which is part of Grenada. It is a small property with only two very private suites. The first thing that amazed me was the view. Even more spectacular than depicted on their website, something you seldom find today. The next thing that amazed me was the level of service. Every morning hot fresh brewed coffee was served as soon as I sat at the shaded picnic table. The food was excellent and portions generous. I especially enjoyed the quiet breakfasts overlooking the Grenadine Islands and a beautiful coral reef while brown boobies did reverse back dives for morning bait fish below. Totally relaxing. Evening meals were served on my private Veranda under a canopy of stars. Bob and Marie , the owners, helped in planning some activities, but I was really there just to relax. The private Out Island boat trip should not be missed. Bob took me snorkelling on Black Sand beach and White Sand beach a few minutes walk from the main beach below. It was excellent. Seaclusion Suites is the only accommodation located within Carrriacou’s only Marine Park. If your concerned about luggage space and weight as I am, Seaclusion Suites provides beach towels and rents snorkelling gear. I brought my mask and snorkel and rented fins. If you are looking to get off the beaten track and still get five star service Seaclusion Suites is the place. I will certainly return.

“Perfect Place To Chill Out & Unwind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

Upon arrival in Carriacou we were met at the ferry dock by the taxi driver which Seaclusion Suites had arranged for us. His name is “Linky” and he gave us a royal welcome and carried our bags right to our suite where Bob & Marie, the owners, also gave us a royal welcome. This welcome, combined with the most stunning view we have ever seen on arrival at a holiday accommodation, we immediately knew we had made the right choice for our holiday. We were given a wonderful menu and fantastic information package. This set forth all the activities and services that were available and the prices were clear. This came in most useful in planning our stay.

Bob has great knowledge about the island and has lots of enjoyable stories to tell. Marie’s cooking is truly excellent, and once you have had a look around the small food stores in town you wonder how on earth she does it. Bob & Marie are very flexible and willing in helping you get the most out of your stay. If its adventure and exploring you want they can arrange it, if you just want to relax and be alone, then you’ll barely see them. This is such a great island you really should get out and explore a bit.

For us it’s actually hard to find negatives about Carriacou or Seaclusion Suites. The only obvious ones are that the terrain can be tough in places so we would not recommend this place for the disabled or infirm. If its buzzing nightlife, 5 star restaurants and golf courses you want, you won’t get that on Carriacou.

If you’re after a place to relax and get away from it all though, e.g. honeymoon, couples, or just to unwind, this place is about as perfect as it gets. We highly recommend it!

“Owner asked me not to come”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

I reserved (and paid a deposit for) 3 nights in early December 2010. Two months before my scheduled arrival, I emailed the owner asking some questions prompted by an earlier TA review. Specifically, I asked if the 2010 drought had broken, and whether the previous reviewer's comments about 'surprise' service charges was indicative of what I should expect. I was, to say the least, very surprised when, after no more than the exchange of a few polite emails over several days, the owner asked me not to come and refunded my deposit. While the owner presumably has the right to refuse service to anyone he chooses, and his unwelcoming behavior in this instance may have no bearing on how he treats actual guests, I thought my unhappy experience was worth sharing with those contemplating a visit to Carriacou.
