When I remember my journey through the Carribean I think about Carriacou and the Green Roof inn. I wasnt sure to go there because of the mixed reviews. Now I'm so glad I did go! I loved it. The atmosphere (relaxing, home), the staff from the restaurant (Magnus and the 2 girls) and the manager. I stayed in the single room which is basic but for the price they ask very good. You don't spent a lot of time in your room after all. I was laying in the hammock, having lunch and dinner at the terrace or reading a book viewing the sea.
You most like remote places to like Carriacou. I liked it! I felt comfortable, at peace. People on Carriacou are pleasant. They dont see you as a tourist but as a friend ;-)
The food at the restaurant is probably the best (also is Bogles round house). The price is a bit high but for me it was worth it.
The mosquitos didnt bother me too much. There was a good net in my room.

Tip for the owner:
- When I was in your hotel Magnus was the one looking after the safety of the guests at night. That gave me a save feeling. Will there be a guard if he's not around anymore?
- The photos on your website are very old and dont give a good impression of the premises. To make sure not to have wrong expectations its better to place new photos.

I was here for a couple of weeks across Christmas - my third time. I think it's the perfect place to relax and an oasis of good (European) food in a beautiful but simple island like Carriacou; good selection of wines too,which is sometimes difficult to find in small islands. I stayed in the bungalow and unlike some of the reviewers had no problem with mosqitoes due to a very effective net over the bed. I liked the clean, rustic feel of the bungalow maybe because I spend a lot of the year in upscale hotels and understand that simplicity can be a form of luxury.
I love the island : although there were a few other tourists , it is devoid of the usual stains of tourism.

we stayed at Green Roof and it was really worse than expected. We are not into fancy but -this is not a fun place. no screens on windows.zipp.mosquito net that seriously did no good for the mosquitos. we live on a farm at home and have chickens... it was the literally all nite barking dogs that were disgusting. The islanders were not welcoming and sorry but the beaches were really either non-existing or hardly accessable.

My friend and I had a 2 night stay on Carriacou - the Green Roof is certainly not luxury and I did not expect that. The price is reasonable, given how expensive accommodation in Grenada is in general. We had a room with two twin beds put together and a bathroom with shower. Charming and otherwise reasonably spacious enough for our needs. I also have no problem with the practises to conserve precious water on the island. My only complaint about the stay, and it is a big one, is with the lack of functional mosquito netting in our room. There was only one mosquito net for the two twin beds and it was simply neither wide nor long enough to keep out the mosquitoes. No matter how I arranged the net, it was simply useless. At no other accommodation on our trip to St. Lucia, Grenada and St. Vincent & the Grenadines did we have this same problem with netting. As a result, I spent two very bad nights because of merciless biting in the night and lots of scratching. This was not one or two odd mosquitoes getting in, but a horde of them. I expect that I will be bitten by mosquitoes on a trip to the tropics. However, I consider it more than reasonable to expect a working net that will protect me while I sleep under it. As I said, this was not a problem anywhere else we stayed.
