“What a great view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Pat Mitchell, the owner, greeted us when we arrived and shepherded us to our second level ocean front room/suite. The large room, complete with a small kitchen and large bathroom, was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of Admiralty Bay right on Belmont walkway which leads right into town. I was so pleased to find that the pictures they have of their property on their website are accurate. [Thanks, Pat, for doing things right!] We ate breakfast on our deck each morning, overlooking the beautiful bay. Pat and everyone who worked there were most hospitable and helpful. Because our flight left mid afternoon, Pat had no problem letting us stay until we needed to leave for the airport. We appreciated her kindness and helpfulness. Know that the rooms are not air conditioned and even being there at the end of November, it was rather warm. There are fans in the room, however, and we were able to position them to keep us quite comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

“Lovely view of the Bay & town a few steps away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011 via mobile

For optimal enjoyment and best bang for the buck, book an upstairs room overlooking the Bay. We stayed in early November just as Bequia is gearing for high season. Even at low season, rooms run $190 USD. The upstairs mini suites have georgeous view, small kichen and large bathroom (I'm assuming the rooms below are the same). Our room, #2, was charming, clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable and it was lovely to wake up in the morning on the Bay and enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the balcony (for those that enjoy eating in, the kitchen is nice to have).

“Dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

Nice place for dinner, but not as relaxed as the rest of Bequia.

“First Time to Bequia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I wish I had enough time and energy to describe the friendliness, warmth, uniqueness, and rare beauty that is Bequia. It was unlike any other place we have been in the Caribbean, and the Gingerbread (stewarded by Pat Mitchell & company) was the crown jewel of our experience. Thanks, Pat.

“Smack Dab in the town”

Stayed here for work, which was a simple walk from the hotel. Room was more a house with all the necessities required - stove, fridge, toaster, iron, blow dryer and microwave. the beach is 2 minutes walk from your door - depending on how slow you walk. The room was very nice - no A/C though - but there were two fans as well as a mosquito net over the bed (two twins). There are a few mosquitoes - so sleeping with the net is advised. Bequia goes to sleep roughly around 10 - 10:30 pm so there was not much to do at night. The bar is upstairs the receptionist room and the food was alright - but a bit pricey. If on a budget, eat from the shops in town. The highlight of my stay, however was the Pizza shop a few minutes past the hotel - DELICIOUS !!!!! with a variety of ingredients, including fish, lobster or smoked chicken to name a few, and you can get a mix - I had a smoke chicken and fish on both occasions that i went. You can walk to the "only" two beaches in Bequia from the hotel - about 30 mins or you can take a water taxi. I find the walk was nicer and cheaper. You can also take a maxi @ 20- 25 EC- that would drop you to the top of the hill, and you can walk down to the beach for $1.50 EC. Ferries run to and from the main land during the cost of the day finishing at 6:00pm. The Gingerbread is a nice place to stay for groups or families.
