“Horrible Experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2009

The staff is very helpful with the general things they are charged with; but almost clueless otherwise. A call had to be made to someone off the premises for a card payment to be made. The products and services advertised are not what you receive. Imagine they advertised a FULL breakfast and all you get is a load of toast, coffee/tea and some eggs -scrambled or omelette and they charge $14 USD for that.
They room I occupied was roach infested, (I killed 4 in 1 night) encouraged by a leaking faucet drain pipe and open spaces in the wall above the bathroom.
As a son of the soil and a business person and having another Caricom national in my company, I was truly embarrassed by the services received. After 1 night, I had to move to another hotel.

“Huge Unit”

Our flight was canceled back to the U.S. and LIAT put us up at the hotel. We had a huge 2-bdrm. unit across the street from the main building. It was split level and looked more like a home than a hotel room. It had a beautiful, wooden, raised ceiling that made it seem even larger. The bar/dining room were very nice as was the food. We had stayed at the Beachcomber while on St. Vincent which was on the beach. The New Haddon was nice but wouldn't stay there again as I go to islands to be on the beach. It was perfect as a stopover on the way to the airport.

“What a nightmare!!!”

On July 13th 2003, my family was visiting St-Vincent for the first time. On our final morning of July 15th 2003, I was awakened by management at 3:00 am asking me if I was missing anything. I was in shock when I realized my room was robbed. There was two security persons that saw someone jump from the room. They did not pursue this person because they had to check with the manager Michelle Lowrie. This allowed the thief to go through my bags and remove all valuable contents (cash, travelers checks, and sentimental expensive jewelry were gone). The security returned to look for this person by then he ran and threw my bags at them. You couldn?t even identify the hotel security. WHAT KIND OF SECURITY WAS THIS!! How did he get into my room? I was on the fourth floor, no balcony, and the window was found open. This window can only be opened from the inside. I feel one or more employees were involved. The manager did not offer any support. I left for the airport at 6:30 am, returned back to Montreal. Still in shock, I contacted Mrs. Lowrie at the hotel, July 18th. I was told the owner Mrs. DaSilva would contact me. It was now been three months and not one word of concern from Michelle Lowrie or Mr. DaSilva. This was the first time I was involved in a crime of this nature and have been left feeling totally violated. My vacation was RUINED!!

“Not beachside....but worth it !!!”

This charming hotel is not beachside, but for the money saved, you get a huge, two-bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the city and a staff that will serve your every whim. The restaurant is old-Caribbean in its antiquity; prim, proper and elegant.
