This is a fairly old facility, though the room was okay and the bed comfortable. Has old style small bathroom. You can sit on the toilet and lean against the sink.
The location is great, at the end of a high point with water on 3 sides of it. Problem is that none of the rooms have balconies to enjoy the view. Also the windows were nailed shut, so you could also not enjoy the tropical trade winds that St. Vincent enjoys.
They have a very small look out over the ocean (part of the bar) where you can order breakfast and other meals. There is also another restaurant down the hill with a steep walkway down and back up that is open I think 5 or 6 nights a week. This is primarily a pizza place, but they have other attractive options. BUT, a 12" meat lover pizza with VAT was more than $30. Probably the worlds most expensive pizza.
The pool is small, but they have a covered area at the end with 2 tables that was nice to sit at, stay out of the sun and read.
It is very convient to the airport, only about 5-10 minutes away.
They have WiFi in the lobby.
The employees were very nice.
Biggest problem I had was that I had reservations confirmed through Obitz for $104 a night. Because of this low rate, I had decided to stay an extra night at the hotel. When I went to check out, they charged me $129 a night, plus 10% service charge. What is the heck is a hotel service charge (other than a rip off)? In hundreds of hotels I have stayed at, none have ever charged a service charge. In addition they used an exchange rate of about 2.7, instead of the generally accepted 2.6, which raised rates another 3.8%. So, I ended up paying about $40 more per night than expected. There was also a 10% VAT tax added to the bill, which I expected. I showed them the Orbitz confirmation and they said that Orbitz worked with a consolidater that obviously gave them wrong rates and they would not honor the confirmed reservation amount.
Finally, the name Grand View Beach Hotel? What? There is no beach, it is high on a hill.
