Found mold in the air condition unit of the room I was in. Another guest (work colleague) of the hotel had the same experience, plus mold was on his curtains and dead bugs in one of the drawers. For that type of money OTI has to come better than that.

First of all, St. Kitts is truly one of the nicest places I have visited. From the Immigration Officer, all I got was great smiles. When I got to the Inn, it took a while for me to check in the Receptionist didn't take a second to look at me. She phoned a security to walk me to my room and I had to carry my heave suitcase the entire way. When he figured he reached far enough, he just used his hand to direct me further and I had to make my way for the rest of it.

When I got to the room, the AC wasn't on. Only when I put it on I realized why, the unit was so noisy. The TV had like 8 channels. The bathroom was okay and basic but what was worse was the cold shower. They gave me coffee with no tea cups. The door gave so much trouble to lock and unlock.

The saddest part for me was food wise. The food at the hotel's restaurant was horrible for dinner. My first night I went down to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner, the service was awkward but the food was okay. The next morning I went to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. The waitress didn't know what came with what. After having breakfast I was sick for the rest of my trip.

I am not bashing the hotel or anything but I will not be going back there. When I saw the pictures online, I really wanted to go there, but after that trip, never again!

OTI as it is called in St. Kitts, is a multi-level hotel that cascades down a hillside to the street on the other side of which is the sea. The grounds have some lush vegetation and a waterfall, as well as 3 swimming pools, one of which has a swim-up bar and meanders through the vegetation. The rooms are not luxurious, but are quite comfortable, and have wireless internet. They can be cold as the AC is either on or off, so take a sweater or windbreaker (always useful in the Caribbean in any event). The views of downtown Basseterre and Nevis in the distance are beautiful. Evening meals are in their Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant which is across the street at the bottom of the hotel and next to the dive shop and breakfast and lunch are served at the Waterfall Restaurant at the top of the hotel. Next door is the best and most expensive restaurant on St. Kitts, Serendipity. If you are not carrying much, it is not too hot or raining, and you are not wearing high heels, OTI is walking distance from downtown.

I have used this hotel many times when on business trips to St Kitts and have always found it to be a great place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is good for breakfast and has a stunning view across Basseterre. Dinner is good too although can work out quite expensive. The Friday night Caribbean buffet allows visitors to get a taste for the island cuisine. Internet access costs $9.99 per 24 hours although does work well. The hotel is built on several levels and so long as you can manage stairs then that is not a problem. All in all this is my favorite place to stay on St Kitts and so much more personal than the big hotels, like the Marriott.
