Spent a week at the Comfort Suites.
The hotel has a great location. It is not oceanfront but it is less than a minute walk and you do not have to cross a street.
The staff was great and extremely helpful.
Breakfast was also good and FREE. Everything is expensive on the island so a free breakfast means a lot.
Rooms are dated and need renovation but are very clean. The cleaning staff does a great job every day.
Seven mile beach is wonderful although between the Marriott and the private residence building, the area gets pretty crowded. There is plenty of room if you go past the Marriott but you will not have beach chairs unless you bring them from the hotel yourself (it's not a pleasant walk if you are carrying a chair).
We rented a car (which I would recommend if you like exploring) and had a wonderful time exploring different beaches and areas on the island. Getting used to driving on the left side of the road was much easier than I thought it would be. The island to me felt very safe and everyone was extremely helpful.
We loved eating at Casanova, the balcony was great and the staff and food were wonderful and not too expensive when compared to the rest of the things on the island. Don't get me wrong, it was not cheap.
Also went to Hemingway's restaurant and did not care for the food or the rude staff. Hemingway's was quite a bit more expensive than Casanova.

If you have to watch your budget but still want to visit Grand Cayman check out the Comfort Suites as a cheaper choice still slap bang on the beautiful seven mile beach. The only downside is the fact the hotel is a few steps off the beach but there is plenty of beach for everyone! The friendly reception staff deal with all your queries. The inclusive breakfast is real value for money and our room has full size fridge, freezer, microwave and a couple of hobs so we could eat out or in to suit our budget. The pool area is clean but beware of the divers that take it over when there is a course to be done.

Just spent a week with my family of four in a one bedroom suite. The hotel and grounds are very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A decent breakfast is served and a laundry room and small bar/restaurant are on the property. The hotel is one building back from the ocean, but you still have plenty of access to beach and beach chairs. Not having to cross the street to get to the beach is a big plus. The traffic is constant and driving is UK style, so it's tough to cross safely with kids when you're used to driving on the right hand side. We also used the Ambassador Diving office that is on-site for our diving. They took care of all of our gear, even for the dive we did on our own. That was also a huge plus since 4 sets of diving gear would not have fit in our room, though there was plenty of space for us. The suite included a microwave, medium side fridge, 2 burner stove and a dishwashwer, along with sufficient dishes and cookware for four. Towels are plentiful for the room and the beach or pool, but if you plan to cook, you'll need to stock up on napkins or paper towels. There are also plenty of restaurants in walking distance, including Coconut Joe's (across the street), Cimboco (behind the Texaco) and Pizza Hut (the kids fave). Catching a taxi or bus is easy. The grocery store is not in walking distance, but Kirk's does offer delivery. The Camana Bay complex is also within easy walking distance and it has a variety of wonderful higher end restaurants, a movie theater, ice cream, frozen yogurt and shopping, along with great ambience.

Just spent an idyllic Christmas week at the Comfort Suites Seven Mile Beach. Loved the hotel! Cozy size, clean, nice little suite including dishes, silverware, new bottle of Palmolive dishsoap, microwave, toaster, fridge. Comfortable bedding like that found in Hampton Suites: fresh soft cotton. Wonderful pillows and plenty of them: 6 for the queen bed. Air conditioning worked, new carpet in hall and room.
Hot breakfast every morning with eggs made from fresh eggs (not mix). They had scrambled and very good hard-boiled. Also tons of other choices: name-brand yogurt, cut and whole fruit, cereals, white and wheat bread (toaster available), waffle-maker and batter, choice of teas, coffee, real cream, milk, etc.
Nice pool area. Pick up and drop off beach towels in a very nice system. Fresh dry beach towels always available.
Adjacent to the pool area, nicest bar/restaurant I've ever seen in the Choice group. Food very reasonably priced. I had conch soup (Manhattan style), chicken curry, fresh grilled shrimp, fresh grilled mushrooms. Good steamed veggies, not frozen.
Very nice young man assisted with bringing hotel chaises, chairs, umbrellas out to the beach and setting them up.
Housekeeping staff for my floor was outstanding.
Desk staff polite, but not helpful about available tours, etc. I heard them advise new arrivals that there were no tours, to rent a car. This is flatly untrue. Multiple types of tours are available.
