“Excellent property, freshly remodeled, no ocean view”

This was only the second time-share exchange that we have tried and I was skeptical but very relieved when we arrived late at night, tired from a delayed flight (Cayman Air was on "island time" that night). Our keys were left for us by the manager and the unit was perfect, although not right on the beach or with an ocean view. It seemed to be freshly remodeled and the two bedroom unit was more than enough for the two of us. Although the property was not on the beach and there was another hotel property between us and the beach, it was a very short walk from our door to the water (less than 50 yards). We had a ground-level unit with a nicely furnished screened porch which opened out onto grass where it was only a few yards to the attractive pool area. The unit was very comfortable with everything you could need including free Wi-Fi. On Monday mornings there is an orientation about activities and tours and then free transportation to the local grocery store. The property itself is located a couple of miles from George Town and is not a bad hike and if you do get tired, the bus/vans are constantly coming by honking to see if you need a ride. For divers and snorkelers, there is an on-site dive shop with another one right across the driveway. Also, for the adventurous who want to drive yourselves around the island ("look to the right, drive on the left") 'Andy's' car rental is right across the street as is 'Coconut Joe's' bar and grill which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. All-in-all, we were very pleased and would go back.

Room Tip: We liked our building location towards the ocean side of the complex. There are some units which ar...

“Grand Vacation in Grand Cayman”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Visited Grand Cayman at the end of Pirates Week 2011. Had a wonderful time. I would recommend a rental car to explore the island. The 7 Mile Beach Resort is a beautiful property a short walk from the beach. The room was excellent (new appliances and washer and dryer in the unit). The walk to the beach was not a problem even for my 5 year old. We travelled to other beaches on the island so this walk never was a problem. They do charge fee for electric use at the end of the stay (Ours was around $100). But we had 5 people in and out of our unit and we did laundry alot. Things I would highly recommend: Scuba Diving, Stingray Cay Trip, Rum Point, Smith's Cove. If you have a little one obsessed with pirates, this is the perfect island especially during Pirates Week.

Room Tip: Top floor room so noise is less of a problem (No one above you)

“Caribbean Jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

If you are first time to Grand Cayman like we were, and looking for a clean and spacious condo near the beach (a 2 minute stroll), this is your place. Right on Seven Mile Beach near a great selection of wonderful restaurants. Just right for a family, we were there with our college age sons and had plenty of space, a nice-screened lanai overlooking the pool that is never crowded and perfect weather.Yes, the garbage truck does run by very noisily at about 4 am and the roosters don't always know the time but that all seems to add to the charm.
Caymanians are very friendly and hospitable. Recommend Captain Marvin's excellent trip to Stingay City.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the pool so you can't go wrong.I would choose 2nd or 3rd floor for more priva...

“Great trip!!”

Stayed at this time-share through a swap. First time on Grand Cayman. The unit was very nice: 2 bdrms, each with a full bath with soaps, shampoos, etc.; full kitchen, all major applns., etc; dining room with large table; flat scren tv in living room with sleeper sofa and 2 chairs; overall the unit was very nicely decorated and appeared to have undergone a total face-lift of just about everything; lovely screened in porch overlooking a very large pool with many lounge chairs and much shade; 2 large weber grills avail.; office staff extremely courteous and very helpful; office loans books, games, cards, dvd's etc.; beach umbrella provided for the asking; traveled with my wife, sister-in-law and my brother; we all had a thoroughly great time at 7 Mile and would definitely return. Also, we aaaall have traveled to most of the Caribbean, Mexico and South American beaches, and Grand Cayman has become one of all of our favorites. The people, the beaches, the food, the history, the culture, the attractions, the overall ambience, all were 2nd to none. Do go there!!!

Room Tip: With children, elderly, disabled-request ground floor.

“Nice Condos; great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Our condo was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit and was very nice inside. The outside is not anything to write home about but the inside is quite nice. We had a washer and dryer in our unit which was really nice to have. Several guests have commented on the beds being uncomfortable; I would not say they are horrible by any means but they certainly aren't the most comfortable beds ever.
Our refrigerator actually quit while we were there and the management staff was relatively helpful in getting it repaired. They did not exactly rush to get it done, but it did get done the same day we notified them of the issue. They brought us a huge bag of ice to help keep our perishable items cool while we were waiting on a repairman which was very nice.
The pool was very nice and was quiet most of the time.
The grills that are by the pool for guest use are very nice! It would be great if the guests would do the right thing and clean them the way they should, but that is certainly not the resorts fault.
The location of the resort was great, it was right across the street from Coconut Joe's which we thought was great; it was a decent walking distance from Georgetown. Mind you - its a LONG walk, but it is certainly do-able. What we did was walk one way and then take a bus the other way.
The beach was nice, pretty narrow, but clean and nice. They provide lounge chairs and umbrellas. The snorkeling near the resort was not that great while we were there, it was a bit rough and very rocky under the water. According to some braver people there were some things to see down near the Marriott but we did not venture out again after finding it a bit too rough.

Our one MAJOR gripe was that every morning during the week at about 5:00 in the morning the garbage truck would come to empty the dumpsters of this and other nearby resorts. It was VERY loud and VERY annoying. We were in the very back of the resort so I am sure that other units probably couldn't hear it but it was awful for us. Thankfully we are decently hard sleepers and would go back to sleep once he left. I dont' know if there is anything the resort could do about this but you might want to pack earplugs if you aren't a really hard sleeper.

The resort is working on getting the amenities that were ruined by the hurricane a few years ago up and going again but we didn't find anything that it was lacking really. Overall, We were very happy with our stay there.

Room Tip: I would imagine the rooms on the north side or to the center would avoid the noise from the alley th...
