Just returned from a week long stay at Cobalt Coast and all I have to say is "WOW!". The resort is amazing and the staff is one of the most friendly that I have ever encountered. The owner would always make sure to say hi to us and sit down for a talk. We asked him for a restaurant recommendation and he immediately whisked us away in a cab to a beautiful restaurant with complimentary champagne waiting. The restaurant treated us like royalty which I'm sure had something to do with his phone call:) The food at the on-site restaurant was excellent and they were always happy to accommodate you. It is a little off of the beaten bath and touristy areas of 7-mile, but this is exactly what we were looking for. If you want the crowds and shopping areas, 7-mile beach was about 10-15 min. by cab.
We did 8 dives with the on-site dive company DiveTech. They staff at DiveTech was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and happy to adjust dives to the needs of the divers. By the time we left I felt like I was leaving a group of friends. We even talked to other divers and dive operators around the island who had nothing but good things to say about DiveTech. The off shore diving at the resort was amazing but pales in comparison to other dive sites around the island. The Kittiwake wreck is a must dive as well as the site called "Trinity Caves". We also dove the "West Bay Express" dive from the resort which is a scooter tour of the "mini wall" at 40-50ft depth. This was an amazing dive after you get used to the scooter, so be patient. In the 40 min. scooter dive, we toured 4 different dive sites which would have been impossible without the scooter. The waves and current on the north side of the island were a little rough at times later in the day (as we went in January), but the issue was much less at their other shore diving location "lighthouse point".
Overall this was an excellent resort that made all of us feel at home. Bring some ear plugs for the roosters in the morning though, they are all over the island so avoiding them anywhere on Grand Cayman is impossible. Can't wait to go back!
Room Tip: There is a beach but not direct access to the water due to the rocks.

Dear guest, Thanks for your great comments about your stay with us. Already made copies for the staff to read. Your feedback is wonderful boost for morale and it makes me proud of our crew. The shore diving right off the dock is indeed spectacular and it shows lots of marine life; in case you missed some of the creatures, do check the “picture gallery” at our website. Dora, our assistant manager has taken most of the pictures. Thanks too for sharing your appreciation of the dive staff. They all are experienced dive-instructors and they take your safety serious in a caring and spontaneous way, adding to your memories. I really appreciate you sharing your experience and we will be looking forward to have you visit us aging, soon. Arie
