“Awesome staff,fantastic location”

Necker island is located close to beef island in the bvi.We flew from London to Antigua and after a brief stop, onto beef island where we were picked up by speedboat and transferred to Necker. This was probably one of the best holidays we have ever had and the main reason for this was the staff.Nothing was too much trouble and if you wanted anything different you only had to ask. There were a few themed nights such as casino night,Pirate night (bbq on the beach in pirate outfits) and disco night.all great fun.The chef had previously worked for raymond blanc at Le Manoir and the food was seriously outstanding.A personal favourite was the lunchtime the chef appeared out of thin air pushing a canoe of sushi in the swimming pool, which seemed even more surreal as Richard Branson joined us as we stood in the shallow end of the pool drinking champagne and eating sushi. All the staff without exception were tuned into what the guests needs were, without ever being pushy. For example if we wanted to go para gliding(all water sports are free) they would suggest the afternoon for paragliding and perhaps snorkeling of a morning when the weather was calmer. The only area that could have been improved was the room, which was rather small with no air con, which allowed a few mozzies into the room. However you are not in the room for very long so this is a minor point. If you truely want the best vacation in a beautiful location with amazing staff, excellent food and fantastic memories ,you will be very hard pressed to find anywhere better than Necker island.

“unbeatable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2010

Unbeatable - Sir Richard Branson's private residence in the BVI leaves nothing to be desired - a true all-in full-on experience of pure indulgence!

60 superb, vibrant, young staff for 28 guests maximum makes it impossible not to be spoiled, each one knowing your name within ten minutes. Top class food, unlimited drink of any description and an island paradise which you scoot around on electric buggies...

No room keys. Ever experienced that!? No need. We're all together and on an island, what's to happen? And that's the feeling of unbelievable security and comfort engendered in this island paradise.

Taste and style ooze from every corner of every room and no detail has been overlooked - help yourself to the basket of sunoils and lotions dotted around the place, a cigar from the box or a drink from the bar on the odd occasion the barman is not around.

Ride the catamarans, windsurfers, take a lesson in kiteboarding and probably see Richard out there hopping the waves if he's home.

Went there for business, stayed there for pleasure. No superlatives can rank this experience accurately. If you're fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit, do it. Unreservedly recommended in every sense.

“Necker Island....the Trip of a Lifetime!”

This trip is indescribable. We had a friend who flew 28 of us to Necker to celebrate his girlfriend's 40th birthday. We had the island all to ourselves. Did not get to meet Richard, though. ;o(
My husband and I were in Bali Buah. It is in the center of the island, so there was a limited view of the ocean and little breezes to stave off mosquitos. Small price to pay for such an incredible place! The staff was amazing....young, vibrant group of twenty-somethings, mostly England....ready to cater to our every whim. Shopping? Sure! Tennis? Sure! Bushwhacker? Sure! ha! The surroundings were beautiful, the weather was sunny 95% of the time, only one rain shower while we were there. The food was delicious. Not as much seafood as you would expect while on an island, but delicious nonetheless. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool we shared with Bali Lo and a distant view of the ocean. Our bathroom was down some stone steps and completely open...no door! The shower had a window overlooking the gardens. My words just cannot adequately express how incredible this trip was. I count myself very blessed to have been able to see this fabulous place with my own eyes. Would love to go back one day during Celebration Week.....

“A little piece of heaven”

Went to Necker during a celebration week and stayed in Bali high and bali cliff (there were 4 of us). We flew into antigua and then onto st thomas and were picked up by Brad in the helicopter and flown into the island. As it was a celebration week we were lucky enough to get to spend the week with richard and joan branson and some of their family and also jennifer capriati (tennis player). Everything about the island is incredible. From the location, the staff, the facilities, the food and the atmosphere! This was my first trip to necker but the 6th visit by my parents so I had very high expectations! There are plenty of things to do on the island including walks and tennis and just about every water sport imaginable!! We spent a lot of time taking part in sailing races around the island. On one af the days a few of us were taken out on a boat to virgin gorda to do some snorkelling and unfortunately i got very burnt. No sooner than i told the staff had they arranged for some fresh aloe to be cut from the plants growing around the island and they whisked me off to be smothered in it a wrapped up whilst they gave me a relaxing head massage as this was the only part of me not burnt!!!! The food was excellent, I am an extremely fussy eater, i dont eat vegetables or salads or anything other than basic plain meat. After telling the chef he asked me every morning what i would like for dinner and never ceased to amaze me! one day he even organised for a delivery of pizza from one of the neighbouring islands! The cocktails are also to die for including the rum punch and the pina coladas! The rooms are well decorated in keeping with the style of the islands and it was an amazing feeling to be able to have all the windows open n wake up to the sound of the ocean. It was also a strange and wonderful experience to shower in the open air on the edge of a cliff!!!! All in all an incredible place that has to be experienced to be believed and I cant wait to return!
