My husband and I stayed at Sebastian's Seaside Villas from July 4-11, 2007. We requested and were given a second floor accommodation, #59, on the far end. The Jr. Suite as it was called was nicely furnished with a king-size bed, couch, round table & chairs, kitchenette including coffeemaker, microwave, small refrigerator and sink with glassware, dishes and tableware. Nice-sized closet included a room safe. Bathroom with extra-large shower had great water pressure, hair dryer and toiletries provided. Our balcony was a great place to look out at Jost VanDyke, watch pelicans and seagulls, etc. Daily maid service was very good. Air-conditioning ran on a timer of some sort which kicked off every night in the middle of the night. It would get warm, I would wake up and hit the button on a remote I kept by the bed and the A/C would kick back on. TV reception was never great; some stations better than others. Telephone in room required activation by the office if you want to make outgoing calls, and local calls were charged to the room at $1.15 each or per minute; I can't remember which. I think we had about $20 in phone calls when we left, from making calls to restaurants and day sail companies. Parking was behind the building on a narrow road/one way alley which allowed for one row of vehicles to be parked next to the villas. We had to back out or park close to the end where you could make a tight turnaround, One day we were hemmed in and had to find the owner of the vehicle before we could leave. The walk to Sebastian's restaurant was just around the corner. Also within walking distance was Coco Plum's and Sugar Mill Hotel's restaurant was a very short drive. We ate two dinners and two breakfasts at Sebastian's and tried lots of others during the week. The lobster we had one night was excellent; the fish another night just OK. Banana pancakes and sausage were great. Overall, our stay at Sebastian's was quite satisfactory and we would recommend to others who like to explore and don't require a pool, beachfront, etc. The price of $900 per week was reasonable and we were able to eat breakfast and have wine & snacks in the room, which was nice. The location on the west end was convenient to Nanny Cay and the dive shop there (about 15 min. drive) and within 20-25 min. of Roadtown, Cane Garden Bay area, etc. Jerry's Car Rental was also very close by and where we rented our car. They pick you up and take you back to the airport if you have reserved in advance. I'd be glad to answer questions or share any other info with fellow travelers. Have multiple island experience so can compare and contrast Tortola with others, also.
