“Fantastic house in a fantastic location”

Tortola is a wonderful island, have been there three times. Sterling House is fantastic, the views are breathtaking from every room. The accommodation is very spacious, modern , and very tastefully decorated, The rooms were very clean upon arrival, and the wonderful housekeeper Jeannie had put all our pre-ordered groceries away from Bobby's supermarket., Jeannie welcomed us with a big hug and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately we never met Donna - perhaps next time!

“Absolutely Unbelievable.”

The Sterling House was everything we envisioned it to be and more. After surfing the web for the perfect destination to celebrate our 40th anniversary, we came upon the Sterling House. We looked at the pictures and read all the reviews and knew this is where we wanted to be. We contacted the owner, Donna Sterling, and made our reservations for 10 days in mid May. We referred to Donna many times before and during our stay of places to dine, day excursions, shopping, etc. etc. We followed her recommendations with absolutely no regrets. Our beachfront villa was indeed a 5 star accomodation. In our book, it rated a "10" !!! We were greeted by travertine, granite, luxurious bed linen and spectacular views of what appeared to be "our own private and secluded" beach. Each night we fell asleep to the sound of the ocean and awoke to a beautiful sunrise and ocean breezes. The villa lacked nothing; very upscale and exceeded our high expectations. It was everything we dreamed it would be. We felt like the "Rich and Famous" our entire visit. Our days were filled with beauty, privacy, romance and limitless opportunities. We dined at the Sugar Mill restaurant on our actual anniversary. It was close in proximity to the Sterling House. The ambience was what we had hoped it would be. Add to that excellent food and great service making our day all the more special !!! We also would recommend Banakeet and Sebastian's Restaurant. Both offered excellent food, service and entertainment. Donna made our car rental arrangements for us, saving us time and money. We booked a snorkel excursion with Aristocrat and shopped and dined several times at Soper's Hole Wharf. We took the ferry over to Virgin Gorda where we spent a good part of one day at The Baths and Devil's Bay. Each day brought with it another new adventure. We would definitely recommend the Sterling House. Having traveled to many other stellar destinations, we were most impressed with this one. Donna was delightful. Her housekeeper, Jeannie, was also most helpful. We were welcomed with open arms and left with misty eyes and promises of returning one day. Yes, yes, yes.....it was a trip of a lifetime for us.

“Best place and best view in Tortola”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2011

We recently stayed at the Sterling House for our spring break with my husband and parents. As soon as we saw the house from the road we knew it was going to be an amazing stay. The entire place was absolutely gorgeous, from the amazing oceanfront view, to the pristine interior, where every attention to detail had been paid. The owner, Donna, was also amazing. We had everything we needed and if we didn't, she was sure to help us. the sunsets and dining on the patio were beautiful. The beach was great, as well as the swimming. It's secluded with the only noise being the calming sound of the ocean. If I return to Tortola, this is where I would stay. The only downside, and this is not discrediting the house, is the driving. Everything here is hard to get to, so brew up some rum punch on the patio of the Sterling House and enjoy!

“Already planned revisit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2010

This is an exceptional property for those who desire beachfront and poolside access with a phenomenal view. It is a villa rental....no large hotel "amenities" or having to deal with others on this trip. The villa has first class furnishings as well as an extremely comfortable layout. Provisioning is available and I highly recommend utilizing this service....How wonderful to arrive to a fully stocked kitchen and bar! The beach is beautiful, the pool is refreshing, the kitchen very functional, the bedrooms romantic......You won't want to wander far from here when you are here...A nice hotel restaurant is steps down the beach if you don't want to cook...Have stayed many places and this is heaven!

“Vacation of a Lifetime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2010

This was the vacation of a lifetime that I'd like to keep repeating over and over again. My sister made the reservation after finding Sterling House on VRBO. She said that once she saw this online there was no where else she and her husband wanted to stay. My husband and I shared the villa with them.

I awakened before the others after a wonderful night's sleep. I was breathless with amazement at the picture perfect beauty that surrounded me each morning. Then I sat on the veranda, feeling the cool ocean breeze, watching and listening to the waves slap the rocks and the shore, sipping my coffee. Before too long Wayne would come out to take their 2 little dogs (sorry can't remember their names) for their morning walk on the beach. It was my favorite time of the day.

The view is from the end of Long Bay beach. You can get some sun in a lounge chair on a grassy area that is just a few feet above the beach right in front of the villa, or walk just a few steps down and you are on the beach.

Donna helped us rent a vehicle so we were able to explore the island near and far, although far is relative because it's a tiny island.

Long Bay Resort's restaurant was a very short walk down the beach away and other good restaurants a short drive away. If you'd rather cook, the kitchen is equipped with all you need and Donna will put away the provisions that you pre-order. There are grocery stores nearby if you'd rather do your own shopping.

Snorkeling was fabulous at near-by Smuggler's Cove and shopping and more dining around the corner at Soper's Hole in West End. Another favorite place was Cane Garden Bay just a short drive away.

You will not make a mistake staying at Sterling House.
