If you are looking for a place that can be your "home away from home" while in St. Maartens, then I highly recommend the Turquoise Shell Inn. The accomodations were quite comfortable, the inn is steps away from the beach, and grocery stores, restaurants, and bars were all quite close and easily within walking difference. Upon arrival, Carter, the owner/manager treated me like an old friend, gave tips and directions on where to go, and offered all sorts of assistance including arranging day trips. This was my first visit to St. Marteens and I truly enjoyed my stay. I look forward to my return to St. Maartens and the T-Shell Inn. By the way, be sure and check out Maho Beach and the planes.

I stayed here on business. If your involved with the super yachts then this is a good reasonable place to stay and with in walking distance of the Marina so perfect. Walk out the back and your right on a lovely sandy beach. Carter runs the place very helpful and always around to assist if you need anything. I liked the room its like a mini apartment with a cooker, fridge etc. Good little place if your there and need to cook a bit and live a bit and kept very clean.

Its recommend by me for all of the above. 10mins from airport.

If I am being honest, when we first pulled in, I thought, Oh my God. I was a little nervous - then I reminded myself - be openminded. I am glad I was! The Inn is off the road, behind some buildings. BUT, that is what made it great in the end. Nice place - great people! The air worked great and the room was plenty big. There is a moquito net in the room - I would recommend using it. They weren't too bad, but I am glad we used it when we did - plus, it is kinda fun! My only complaint would be the couch - not too comfy. But, most people probably don't stay in their rooms much. It would be nice to have a t.v. in the bedroom too.
The location can't be beat! Walking distance to many great restaurants and necessities. There is a security gate - not because they really "need" one, but it is nice. The owners sister was there intitially - gave us the ins and outs of St. Maarten - she was a sweetheart! Met the owner, Carter, later in the week - great guy! He ended up giving us a ride to the airport - he was going to pick up a friend there. We will definitely be back!

We arrived early evening(stayed 7 nights) and checked in with the owner's sister(covering for Carter) which flowed smoothly and she gave us a quick tour/answered our questions.. This included the back up plan in case electricity went out. We loved the location due to proximity to grocery stores/restaurants/bars etc.. We never did use the stove because of the great restaurants and bars near by. I loved the AC(we are from Minnesota) and slept great! We did snorkel on the beach that is right in front of the Inn and I jogged the mile stretch of beach- did 3 miles and boy what a beautiul back drop to exercise. I met Carter as we checked out on the last day and he was picking up a friend from the airport-so offered us a ride- which was very kind. If we go back- I will definitely try to stay here!!
