“great location, in the middle of everything”

We love the Atrium and have stayed there many times. It is located on Simpson Bay in the middle of everything. Although I would recommend renting a car so that you can really see and explore the island's many different beaches and restaraunts, you can walk to so many things around you that you can do without a car if you have to. The beach at the hotel is very nice, and there is obviously no charge for the lounge chairs/umbrellas that you will pay for at other beaches. There is a beautiful, new, clean market right around the corner where you can do all of your grocery & liquor shopping. There are loads of restaraunts, bistros & bars very close by as well. There is also an awesome ice cream/gelato place called Carosel that you must try! The hotel is undergoing renovations (finally!) and our suite has been renovated so it's very nice & looks great. Our room is on the 7th floor and the views are simply beautiful. The rooms/suies that haven't been renovated yet are very dated, but still very clean,. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and accomodating. Finally, don't miss the Bucaneer Beach Bar, which is a great place to get drinks & food while you're on the beach.

“Convienient to airport and local activities, friendly and helpful staff.”

For what I was looking for The Atrium filled the bill. It is a short cab ride from the airport and within easy walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. My son and I spent one night in St Maarten and we found the staff very friendly and helpful.

“great escape”

The Atrium provided me with the peace and solice I sought after the recent death of my hushand. My room was a scenic ocean view and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and looking out in the bay. The room was beautifully maintained and I look forward to spending my next trip there. This resort comes highly recommended.

“Very good location!”

Stayed here for one night as we were going to Tortola the next day.
Very glad we chose this hotel! It's in a great location, close to many restaurants and bars, and only a 10$ taxi ride from the airport which was convenient for us. I would stay here for a week no problem! Beautiful ocean view with a nice terrace, great kitchen, nice big bedroom and right on the beach. Nice restaurant and entertainment on location , we had a good dinner here. The appartment was clean, well furnished, everything you need is available in the kitchen, and beautiful view...I don't know if they all have a great view.. Ours was 104 and was great!

“Wide Variety In Accommodation Quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Always choose a renovated suite.
For most of our visit, we were in Room 705, a renovated studio. Reservations made in early July for a mid-November stay. Specific requests for a renovated room with a view of Simpson Bay completely ignored. Assigned to Suite 711 - not renovated and offering a view of houses on a hill.
No reservations staff available on weekends to address our concern and desk clerks indicated they could do nothing. Sent an email to reservations within an hour of arrival which had not been read when we called on Monday morning. Staff cordial and permitted our move to Suite 705 that afternoon.
Suite 711. Kitchen drawers wouldn't fully open because the stove protruded too far. No dresser. Balcony unusually small. Water pressure varied greatly between the two sinks in the bathroom. Shower control functioned intermittently.
Suite 705. Nicely renovated but still missing details. Counter space very limited. Coffee pot and toaster cannot be plugged in at the same time. Dishes diameter too large to fit into dishwasher. Bathtub not replaced. Bathroom door would not close. Entrance door difficult to open.
Most of Atrium staff cordial, but don't plan on getting a reasonable rate if needing to check in early or leave late. The price quoted was $120/night so we chose to move to The Summit for the last few days of our trip.
