We have been to St. Maarten in the past, but this was our first time at Princess Heights, since we were recommended this hotel last time we were on island. I wish I had known this place before, and here’s why:
First of all, the rooms are great! We rented a 1 bedroom Suite. What you seen in the pictures is what you really get: enormous, comfortable, luxury apartment s with full kitchens. We had breakfast sent by the hotel a couple of days upon request and wifi internet access, (which we were told it’s a new free service, so the cable we brought was not necessary anymore)… This kind of place guarantees the comfort of you and your family. I really enjoyed our homemade breakfasts and dinners at the balcony, watching the view to St. Barths.
The Location was also perfect for us. During high season, being surrounded by thousands of people and stucked with hundreds of cars by Maho and Simpson Bay was not what we were looking for anymore. Anyway, it’s just a 20-25 minute drive there. Besides, the location of the hotel gives you direct access both to the Dutch side and the French side, which has plenty of beaches and restaurants to choose from.. I´ve read people who complained about the hotel being too far… well I did not feel anything was far in such a small island.
Finally, my compliments to the staff. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the front desk agents, young, polite, helpful people. They even got us to our unit and provided us with complimentary drinks as they helped us get familiar with the place and its surroundings. A couple of times we also met part of the management team, who actually seem to be on top of any demand you have. The only minor issue we had with the AC thermostat was fixed in no time. Another thing I liked is that the staff do their best not to disturb your privacy and space, something I find difficult to find in most hotels. Thanks a lot guys.
I would definitely recommend this place, and of course we´ll be back as soon as we can. Try to get this car rental deals the hotel offers for some dates. It’s really saves you money and time. For an island like st. Maarten, you really need a car.
