This place is wonderful - the views, the food, the pools, the rooms and especially the staff. It's in the country so please expect rural sounds especially in the mornings. The donkeys were rescued after the volcanic eruption on Monserrat and they were adopted by the people here so please don't complain about them.
Can't wait to go back!

La Haut deserves all of its positive reviews. The views are breathtaking, the staff are fantastic and friendly, the owner is welcoming, the facilities are great. As others have noted, the decor is not fancy, and the menu and wine list in the restaurant are not extensive, but it is clean and comfortable, the two pools are great, and it is a fantastic value for the price. My husband and I just stayed at La Haut for three days after a week in Barbados, and had a blissful stay. The owner does own a mattress franchise on the island, so the bed was really comfortable - a real treat. Only downside for those who don't rent a car - transportation is expensive. The hotel's daily shuttles to town and the beach are a great value add for your stay, but if you want to go on any excursions or go to one of the restaurants down the hill, transport is very expensive. That shouldn't be enough to keep you away though - and you really don't have to go anywhere, because La Haut has it all. Perched upon a cliff overlooking the Pitons, the town of Soufriere and its harbor, there is not a more peaceful and scenic place to stay in St. Lucia. If you are looking for a big resort with luxury, full service facilities, and lots of company, this is not for you. However, with simple amenities, stupendous views, and undisturbed tranquility, La Haut is a wonderful find. The infinity pool hanging at the edge of a cliff is serene, and the food is excellent. We were happy to eat most of our meals sitting out looking at the Pitons. The breakfasts were sumptuous and the service was very friendly. There is a considerable difference in the rooms, and it is well worth a few extra dollars to stay in one of the three premium vista rooms with romantic and breathtaking views from private decks overlooking the pitons. We had a marvelous vacation.

My boyfriend and I just came back from a three night stay at La Haut. This place is amazing. The view is unlike anything i have ever seen. the infinity pool makes you feel like you're at an expensive resort. The food was also fantastic, as a vegetarian and somewhat of a picky eater, i was very happy. We even ate dinner there two out of the three nights we were there. The staff was very helpful and eager to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We hope to come back and stay one day!
