“Fabulous holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We have just come back from a 10 night stay at Coco Palm in the Kreole rooms. They are budget accomodation but are very comfortable indeed. The location is superb, right in amongst the action yet not too noisy. The staff are very attentive and if they can make your stay better, they will. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

“home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we chose the hotel very carefully as it had to be the right one for us on our tenth wedding anniversary. Staying in hotels is like a busman's holiday for me as I run a hotel for a living, however we were very pleased with our choice. We arrived on the Sunday and after a long ride from the airport with Greg the driver (I booked the transfer with the hotel prior and their man was fantastic and chatted the whole way down) we were very nicely greeted by Vanessa the duty manager and Wendy (who had dealt with the transfer for us via email) both of them were delightful. I have to say that whilst there seems to be a very large team of people at the hotel they are all very friendly warm and welcoming and make you feel really at home. The hotel room was lovely and well appointed with everything that you need to really be comfortable, Nicola our room attendant was really warm and chatty and did a great job looking after the room. The hotel is very close to the beach and all the local restaurants, Rodney bay really is the heart of the tourism industry in St Lucia so at the Coco resort you will be perfectly placed for everything. My tips for things to do- check out the take out restaurant the locals use next to the rituals coffee bar, go to pigeon island and climb up to the top, go to the spice of india restaurant and use the local bus service, watch the sun go down on the beach. We didnt have a bad meal eating out in Rodney Bay but be prepared to pay as it is not cheap and a meal here will cost you as much it will to eat out at home (UK). All in all we had a fantastic week in St Lucia and this was in no small part due to the fantastic hotel and staff that we experienced. We will be back I have no doubt and I rarely find places that I will return to so that says a lot! well done team coco palm!

Room Tip: choose a pool view or swim up room

“First Class”

We have just returned from a two weeks stay at the Coco Palm Kreole Rooms. We travelled with our friends and the two rooms we had in the Creole building were really nice. We cannot understand why people moan about these rooms. They are advertised as budget rooms as they are all in the older buiding set in the gardens of the hotel but facing the main street of Rodnay Bay. They were spacious and very clean. The beds were spotless and the sheets were changed every couple of days and towels changed every day. We all thought it was a nice building ,had its own small reception area and a large veranndah out the back. There was a tea/coffee tray and fridge in every room. A spacious shower room (yes it was a little dated but was still immaculately clean) , plenty of wardrobe spaces,a dressing table and draws and cabinets (not too bad on storage) . The wardrobe contained a safety deposit box and ironing board and we just had to request our iron and hairdryer and they were immediately brought for us.
The staff at the hotel are friendly and keen to provide excellent service. In the Creole building there was a security guard on the front porch (facing the street) 24 hours a day and even these staff were extremely friendly and polite and loved passing the time of day with you (special mention to Sophie ). Gloria one of the cleaning staff deserves a special mention - a lovely happy lady who loved a chat with the guests and would do anything to make your stay first class . One staff member who deserves a special mention is Patricia. She is a great asset to the hotel as she does everything in her power to provide first class service to all guests. She is very friendly and efficient and will do anything to make sure your stay is special. Patricia and Gloria actually gave us a tour of Castries on their day off and we had a great day exploring the market and eating at a local cafe. They both have a great sense of humour and are always laughing and smiling !!.
All in all we would throughly recommend this hotel -yes the Creole rooms that face the street can be a little noisey but they really are not as bad as some people make out !! The location is excellent as you are a five minute walk from the beach and are in the middle of the town within easy reach of everything.
Thank you Coco Palm for a wonderful holiday.

“great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This is a really great small hotel, with friendly staff in a very good location. We did not have many meals but what we did were really good and the bar service is efficient and pretty well priced

It is deserving of its write ups and we were not disapointed, not sure what it is but as per other write ups it just gets the balance right and you feel welcome and relaxed. lovely rooms and pretty garden and pool setting We booked a pool side room and were upgraded to a swim up although i have to confess we hardly used the pool! It was nice and laid back, friendly staff, quiet but in a brilliant location just hidden from the main strip

It was my first visit here and we were keen to explore and really enjoyed getting the local buses. There are plenty going past and its an interesting experience. Avoid rush hour though if you are heading into Castries. The beach is close enough still to be very convenient just a five /ten minute walk away max. I think someone else gave the tip. leave the hotel by the car exit route turn right, cross over and take a left where the cattle grid is and there is a short lane down to the beach. You will also then be at the best end for Snorkelling We went early morning and had our own breakfast on the beach before it got busy with the"on the beach hotel" residents plus cruise visitors taking up position.

We did the Segway trip/ ride in Rodney bay which was fun and different plus a land / boat trip with a small independent Spencer Ambrose. Nice guy and different to go on a speedboat ( he has a number of recommendations on trip advisor)
The rest of the time we chilled out or took the local buses to castries and even marigot bay everyone is very helpful and for a few dollars the bus will often take you off route like down to the beach at Marigot bay or to Pidgeon Island

One other treat was Wednesday night at Buzz restauarant when they had live saxophone player,. Really good and very good food

I will certainly be back to St Lucia and would have no hesitation going to Coco Palm again

We have just returned from a very relaxing and much needed rest at this exquisite hotel. It is difficult to say everything about the place or even why it is so special but from the moment you step inside this hotel you feel like the staff and everyone there is genuinely happy to have you staying there. It is run very professionally and it feels like it is your home. We loved the room, very clean and bright. The bar and restaurant served us well early and late. Great Barbeque and the beautiful Camilla made my rum punches and G and T's to perfection. We loved strolling down to the beach for a swim in the warm waters and having lunch or a drink at the Spinnaker's beach bar and restaurant. The best place to be. From the hotel you can also walk to the marina at Rodney bay for a change of scenery and a nice meal. We went on one trip - the Carnival Catermeran Cruise to enjoy The Pitons, Botanical Gardens and volcano. We loved every minute of it and had a brilliant day. We met some lovely people on this holiday which helped to make it very enjoyable and memorable. By the way if you go on holiday there you get the best rate in the local banks for East Carribbean dollars and that goes for pounds and dollars and there is no charge! Check out the Buzz Restaurant and the Spice of India, voted number 1 restaurant on St Lucia. It was superb.
