If you are vegetarian or have children this is NOT the hotel for you. The food is very poor and although they have a childrens club the evening meal for them is poor. If they want to live on hot dogs if will be fine for them. The main meals and salad bar are not up to standard for a four star hotel. The hotel is in wonderful grounds. The pools are never cleaned properly and the toilets near the restaurant are nearly always blocked and not kept serviced as they should be.
Arrival is very well organised but our room was up a steep walk and the toilet didn't flush and the shower didn't work, no TV hand set was in the room. It took four days to get these things put right and my partner in the end sorted the shower out after the men left. They will come almost immediately to sort out any problems but they leave without it being done properly. It was only when I filled in a customer Satisfaction Form stating I would put these things on the internet that we got the offer of a seaview room and a bottle of red wine was put in the room with a letter of apology. We did not take this up as it was not worth moving room for two days and half days.
We visited this Hotel some nine years ago when it was a three star hotel and Almond have made some excellent changes but with regard to what I would call essential basic requirements they have failed dreadfully.
I will be going to Almond in Barbados in September I hope it is better organised and cleaner than St.Lucia, although listening to others I am not so sure..
I have many holidays during the year and feel my comments are fair I have never put any bad comments on the internet before. We did not let this spoil our holiday and we enjoyed the time we spent there and never went hungry. The staff are very helpful.
