My husband and I spent almost two weeks at the Bay Garden Hotel. Don't confuse this with the Bay Garden resort which is about 2 km ( 1.5miles) down the road. We wanted an efficiency or kitchenette and there are a few at this place but they are like an afterthought and located way in the back looking out over an unfinished concrete construction site! The other travellers we met who were staying in the suites were equally stunned about this but there were no options as these were the only suites. The acutal layout was generous and the balcony lovely ( except for the non-view). There was a lot of things missing in the suite and it took me about three tries to get simple things like tea spoons, a tea towel and an iron. Depending on the day, and who was cleaning the rooms, we may have been left clean swim towels or not, more coffee or not. Kind of strange. The internet was very spotty and we saw evidence of the WiFi antennas being held together with tape. The tech guy - Owen- was extremely helpful and worked hard to get things working for us, but then things would go down the next day.
The pools were fine and the bonus was being able to use the resort - which is lovely and has a beautiful beach. There is a shuttle to the resort and it's not a big deal to walk there - which we did almost every day. The hotel has good access to Rodnay Bay commercial area where there are grocery stores, banks and lots of expensive restaurants.
WE had a good holiday in St.Lucia but unless I was staying in a hotel room proper, I would not stay at this location again. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant as we found it overpriced. The bar was nice and the happy hours were fun.
