“Great Location, basic but does the job”

If you are looking for a base to explore St Lucia and soak up some sun without breaking the bank then this hotel is perfect, however, if you are looking for a luxury get away then you may want to look else where.

Location of this hotel is great, there is a good selection of restrauants and bars right on your doorstep. Beach front location and close to pidgeon point.
For exploring the Island and visting the sulphur springs etc then I would reccommend hiring a car for a few days and do everything at your lesuire (roads aren't fantastic and it can take about 1.5hrs to get to the springs so you'll have to be a competent and confident driver).

Rooms are abit dated but clean (apart from finding a cockroach on the first night ewww), staff are ok, not particually helpful if there is a problem but that was just our experience.

Good value, great weather and good location.

Oh and a must do if you can book the helicopter transfer on arrival - you'll be able to start your holiday within 30mins of landing rather than a road transfer which could take up to 2hrs from the main airport - also great views of the whole island.

“Great Hotel, needs some TLC.”

My family and I have just come back from a week at this hotel and it was a great place to be. On arrival we got some rum punch which is always a winner.

Throughout the holiday the food was fantastic for an all inclusive hotel. And most of the bar/restaurant staff were brilliant especially Tim on the bar and Gertrude in the restaurant. But we did get the impression from a few of the staff that we were not welcome.

All in all it is a nice hotel but it does need updating for example the outside furniture is very old and worn.

The beach was fantastic and like paradise. Again A bit of paint would not go a miss.

A paradise hotel that needs TLC.

“Once again a Beautiful Holiday at the REX ST LUCIAN”

This was our 5th visit to this Hotel and oh what a lovely Holiday we have had again, The Staff all looked after us very well, we were welcomed with with a cold drink on arrival and taken to our room, it was lovely, the large double bed and towels were decorated with flowers, the room was bright and airy with a magnificent sea view, each morning around 6.30 am we had coffee on the balcony whilst watching the daybreak it was beautiful, the temperature was perfect around 28 to 30 each day going down to around 25 c at night WOW, Air con perfect, plenty of hot water, bedding and towels were always fresh and brilliantly clean, room was kept spotless everyday. We were AI as we find the food very good and enjoyed every meal lots of different dishes to choose from, special thanks to Bounty who cooks the perfect eggs each morning. Timothy at the bar makes a mean G & T along with Lex and Chantelle, all of the resturtrant staff also deserve a mention as they make you feel so welcome and they work so hard to make your holiday special. The staff on reception were excellent always smiling and very helpful, but most of all I must thank Greta from Reservations she did her upmost to welcome us back to the Rex and made sure we had everything we needed which we really appreciated so much. The location of this hotel is on a beautiful beach which we strolled along each day can't wait to go back again, we are already booking for next year.

Room Tip: We always stay in the rooms to the right of reception.

“Lovely atmosphere at Rex Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We have just come back from a week stay at the St Lucian Rex Resort. We loved it, the atmosphere was superb and the staff were very friendly, with the exception of a few of the bar staff. Special thanks to Timmy at the bar, who never failed to make us all smile and also to the lovely Geraldine our waitress on most occasions. I must say, the food was excellent and varied and the setting of the restaurant on the beach was sublime! The only negative things I would say would be that some of the garden furniture was getting a bit tired and could do with some updating, i.e. some sun beds did not have a leverage system that worked and some chairs were broken. Also, the outside beach part of the hotel could also do with a splash of paint. Overall, a very fun, relaxed, enjoyable stay and would definitely go again to this resort.

“LOVELY HOLIDAY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

If you go to this hotel realising that it is a three star and not to expect a five star experience you will have a great time. Yes some of the areas are rather run down and need painting but it is very clean and situated on a great beach. We loved the restaurant and enjoyed the fact that we could sit almost on the beach whilst eating. Such a great view. The air conditioning was rather noisy which was a shame and luckily it wasn't hot enough to worry about having it on.

The hotel is situated on Rodney bay which must be one of the best beaches on St. Lucia. We hired a water taxi that took us to the Pitons and gave us a guided tour along the beautiful coast line. Also organised for the taxi to take us to the volcano to have hot mud baths which was great. Was good value for money and highly recommended.

We thought food was great, very fresh and they tried to be original every night. The Oriental is a lovely restaurant and you can get a meal on the all inclusive basis.

Some of the staff, especially the bar staff we found a bit moody and didnt seem to want to be there but a great guy called Tim is highly recommended. Also Geraldine who serves in the restaurant was lovely.

If you want a taste of the Caribbean and you dont want to pay huge prices we would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The garden rooms overlooking the sea were the nicest rooms.
