My wife and I did a 2 week tour of St. Lucia staying at different hotels throughout our stay with our last 3 nights spent at Fond Bay Suites as it is close to the airport for departure. Having stayed at different places around the island in the same price range or just above we were expecting the same island quality. We were very surprised at the quality of the suites at Fond Bay and how well maintained the place is and thought it was worth a higher premium. The suites have quality brand name fixtures like Kohler glass shower doors, American standard, Anderson windows and doors, beautiful wood furnishings, plush Queen beds, free WIFI, ocean view terraces and a huge ocean view pool with a view to die for.

We were so happy we told Ross the place is better than what they advertise. This is the best value on the island.

We recommend Fond Bay Suites!

We contemplated for a long time whether we should stay at Fond Bay as we wanted to do a high end hotel or resort for our 4 day St. Lucia honeymoon and Fond Bay is only 3 stars but offers a great price. Finally we decided on Fond Bay and what a great stay. We stayed in an ocean view suite with private terrace and literally had the run of the place. We were given a private cell phone to carry with us and call for service when needed. We were also provided with a meal service menu and had dinners delivered to our suite. Jerk pork with rice and peas is our favourite dish – spicy and hot!
This is a well maintained charming resort with great amenities; beautiful landscaped gardens, tiled exterior walkways and a very large ocean view pool. We spent our days just relaxing by the pool and listening to the ocean waves below. Once we rented a private car and did an island tour. St. Lucia is a very beautiful island with fantastic views you can’t imagine.

We spent eight nights at Fond Bay and seven nights on the other side of the island at TiKaye Village. The combo made for a perfect vacation for us - but probably not for everyone.

Fond Bay is on the SE side of the island which is the Atlantic side. The view of the bay is absolutely wonderful. It is at least a 15 minute hike to the beach and fairly strenuous. The setting of the beach is a glorious half-moon with rocky cliffs on each end. However, there is considerable trash, and I am not confident the water is safe for swimming. For viewing, picture taking, walking and shell-hunting, it is excellent.

We were kindly upgraded to an ocean view suite which has been described well in other posts. It consists of a large bedroom with a comfortable bed and a closet. The room was "mildly" air conditioned, and might be considered too warm for some folks. The bathroom had a large shower with plenty of pressure and hot water. The kitchen/livingroom had a large sliding door with a screen that opened to the deck. Furniture consisted of a sofa, coffee table, and a kitchen table with two chairs. There was a small TV with decent cable reception and good wifi access throughout. The "kitchen" is a sink, small fridge and microwave. Utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, etc. are in twos - period. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good condition.

The view from our room, our deck and the villa pool was enough to entertain us day after day. The second pool is a bit smaller with less of a view. We were not allowed to use the villa pool on the weekend because of "maintenance" being done on the wonderfully landscaped gardens.

Fond Bay may be the best value on the island IF you know what you are getting. You will need a rental car or a cab to get to any restaurant. Be sure to establish the cost of a cab fare BEFORE committing. Most of the cabbies are fine, honest people, but we definitely got ripped off once. The owners live in the villa, unless it is rented in which case they move to one of the suites. I think the maximum number of people on the grounds is 14 - adults only. We were there alone for the first two days and joined by a single young lady for the remainder. If you are looking for quiet, relaxed, private and isolated, this is the place.

This is a really quiet off the beaten path resort with beautifull ocean views. We had an enjoyable relaxing time by the pool and walking down to the beach. Besides going to the beach we never left the property and opted to using the meal plan and enjoyed poolside candle lit dinners and ocean view/poolside gazebo breakfasts. We also used the delivery service for extra snacks and beverage as needed.
Great place, fantastic location! I strongly recommend this place for honeymoons or rest and relaxation.
