“A great island vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

Le Sereno is a 4 star luxe hotel in an intimate grouping of suites with garden terrances located on the beach at Grand Cul de Sac, St. Barths. From the moment we were greeted by their representative at the airport in St. Martin and escorted to the Winair flight to St. Barths and after arrival, subsequently greeted by the Le Sereno driver who took our bags and drove us to the hotel, we knew we had begun an exceptional experience. The front desk staff made us feel at home and escorted us to a stylish, comfortable "suite terrasse" that overlooked the pool and the ocean. The room itself was very posh and the appointments were all very "luxe". The only problem with the room was that the safe is on the bottom shelf of the desk-dresser, and to open and close it you pretty much have to lie on the floor. For a hotel of this 4 star luxe rating, this is unacceptable, and can easily be corrected by moving the safes to one of the shelves in the closet. To plug in you computer or telephone, the electricity is 220v and the outlets are difficult to access- they are all low and under the furniture- a small inconvenience.

The restaurant Le Pecheur ( the Fisherman) is wonderful! You will not find better food anywhere on the island. Gregory, the bartender, is an artist with mixed drinks and is a charming guy. The service staff is accomodating and mostly fluent in
English, and the menus are in French and English. We were there for 8 mights and ate at Le Pexheur 7 nights, and truthfully, each night was better than the previous! Breakfast (included in the room rate) was excellent and lunches are good, too.

Over all, this is one of the nicest beach hotels we have ever experienced in 40 years of visiting the Caribbean. You will love it!

“Muted sophistication”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

Le Sereno has a lovely relaxed feel. The style and decor is mostly a stylish muted grey and the sea view rooms are large and comfortable. I have marked the value down to 4* but this just reflects St Barts which is expensive. Staff are young and mostly friendly. There is a beach at the hotel but much better beaches exist on the island. Two small issues:
1. overhead light in shower and lavatory seat both broken and remained so though our 4 day stay. They weren't major but should I have to report these or should housekeeping pick up on these?
2. Food is good quality, but as mentioned by a previous reviewer, they need to offer some simpler lunch dishes (club sandwich, burger etc.)
Definitely worth considering for your stay on this lovely remote part of France.

“Honeymoon splurge was worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

My husband found this hotel after much research (he wanted to surprise me as I usually do the travel planning)... it couldn't have been a better honeymoon choice! Wonderful rooms, great service and a beautiful beach (not all hotels in St Barths have beaches AND pools - even if they are luxury properties - so check this when planning). The location was great for us, but some could find it a bit isolated from the main town. The room was extraordinary - I am sorry I dont have pictures of the interior, only the view looking out the window. The food is great and they will bring any menu item to your room. The only improvement I could think of would be some more casual menu offerings during the day - the gourmet food is delicious but sometimes you want something less delicate than a spiced shrimp or foie gras with your poolside cocktail!

“Absolutely Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2010

We visited Le Sereno last December while we were looking for a venue for our wedding this coming December of 2010. The food was fantastic, as was the service. Wonderful atmosphere, lovely rooms.

The staff has been such a joy to work with during the planning process. Marlene and Jean Pierre have been so helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. They are always quick to respond to questions. I have every confidence that the wedding is going be absolutely amazing.

I would highly recommend Le Sereno to anyone that is looking for a quality vacation. And for any bride to be, this should be the first place you look at for a destination wedding in the Caribbean.

“PERFECT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

St Barths is the best place in the Caribbean by far, and Le Sereno is just perfect, I have been all over the world at the best resorts and this little gem stacks right up, The rooms are simple, elegant, clean, very slick and sexy,
The locations is just beautiful. People on here complain that it is not on a sand beach, thats ridiculous, the pool and the location right on this bay are unreal. Half of the fun of this island is jumping in the car and exploring the spectacular beaches. ( Saline, Gouverneur , Colombier and Shell beach are truly world class)
the staff is superb, Joahhna, the guest relations manager is amazing,
Joss at the front desk is great, Daniel and Pierre at the pool are incredible and Matthew at the restaurant could not be nicer.
if you are thinking about going to this hotel, you will have a lovely vacation.
It is really a treat all around.
