We stayed at La Pailotte at the end of January, beginning of February 2004.
We had a very comfortable room with a kitchenette, balcony overlooking the Grand Cul de Sac with a newly finished bathroom. Christine and Hubbert have built a warm, welcoming complex of several rooms (some with kitchenettes), a villa, and a swimming pool. As hosts, they were helpful, gracious, and ever available without being intrusive. The complex is set up so that gardens allow for generous privacy, yet the swimming pool is available for socializing. A real *find!*

We stayed at La Paillote for 5 days on April 2004 as part of a 3-island tour of the caribbean. Our hosts, Christine and Hubbert, are a very friendly couple, and were always ready to helps us when needed. The property consists of a few cottages, split on different levels with a nice pool in between (the pictures in the web site are very close to the reality). The cottage we stayed in had a huge terrace with a breathtaking view of Grand Cul de Sac. The room was clean, with a simple decoration, and there was also a small kitchen.
We enjoyed total privacy thanks to the small number of rooms in the property. I've checked several options in St. Bart before booking and after I got there I could not have been more happy with my choice. For a third of the price of the majority of the hotels, you get a room with a superb view. The money you save you can spend on the fantastic local restaurants.
La Paillote is a very good value for money, and we'll definetively repeat our stay there.
