We just came back from our stay in St. Barth's. My husband and I decided on a whim to make reservations, tickets and go! We totally lucked out!! The hotel was really lovely. It is right on the beach, which is to say that you have access to a pretty quiet beach equipped with lounge chairs, umbrellas, cold water bottles in a cooler on the beach and towels at your disposal. The woman who checked us in was so friendly and nice we immediately felt welcomed and wanted. We stayed in a one bedroom on the hill on the other side of the small road. The road is really just a place to park your car (you should rent), it's not a busy street by any means. For us it was a perfect place, we had our own kitchen and a great view of the ocean, there are grocery stores and places to buy food all over the island. We did go out for lunch in a very posh hotel which was nice (nd very expensive) but we were happy to be able to just have food in the fridge and make something as we needed it. The entire island is full of hills and so the views from our room were spectacular. It wasnt a room per se - it was like a little cottage. We had a place to lounge and a separate room to sleep. Nice linens, L'Occitane products and a very clean cottage made for a wonderful ambiance. They had maid service every morning - which included cleaning the kitchen which had been used the previous night. The morning pastries were yummy and fresh and everyone staying there, whom ever we saw that is, was very friendly. They have a nice movie selection to choose from in the reception office (free) and great books in each of the cottages as well as more in the reception office. You will never want for something to read while at the beach.
It is not a hotel in that there is no room service and it's not enclosed really except the bedroom - which means that mosquitos are everywhere - so bring or buy some bug spray. It's not gross by any means and I am not a lover of bugs - but I would absolutely go back! This place was really a small piece of friendly paradise! Enjoy your stay!!
