“BEYOND AMAZING...”

...our only regret...that we didn't stay longer!!!

If you are going to the Caribbean, #1 go to St. Barths and #2 stay at Eden Rock. From the moment I contacted the reservations department until the second we left, the room service, the room and bathroom, the staff, the location, the food, the cocktails, the beach service...everything was flawless! 3 hours into our stay, we were planning our next trip back. The hotel is located about 5 minutes from the airport and never had a problem with noise from the airport because the planes are tiny and they only depart/arrive a few times a day. I highly recommend flying over via St. Barths Commuter from St. Maarten. You will see beautiful views and if you ask nicely, someone can sit upfront with the pilot. BTW, it's not scary and only takes about 8 minutes in air.

Airport Service:
We were kindly greated by a hotel representative at the airport with a cold bottle of Evian and a refreshing towel in a large air conditioned van.

Beach:
Practically every time we left our chairs to play in the water our beach towels were fluffed by the attendants. The cocktails and the service were great! You get 1 free bottle of Evian per person each day a the beach. There are many water activities...jumping platform, kayaks, snorkels, water ski bobs (which you have to book and pay for) and surf paddling. The water is breathtaking...I've never seen clearer water and the sand was white and soft! Couldn't be more perfect!

Room:
We took advantage of the Pick Me Up (Summer Package) Contemporary Suite which includes a rental car. The room was gorgeous, clean and safe. The bed was comfortable and huge. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was very relaxing. The room had everything you need from voltage converters to iPod docks.

Rental Car:
Highly recommend because we did not see one cab and it is fun exploring on your own! Just be careful because locals drive fast and the roads are small and windy.

Extras:
*Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel property.
*Hotel breakfast was outstanding!!!
*We never saw one misquito but did get tons of bites. The room had bug spray which we did have to use. I think it just had to do with the time of the year we went. However, it wasn't bad enough to make us not plan on coming back the same time again.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the packages!

“Perfect location, amazing hotel!”

Let's be honest - St. Barths is expensive. So if you're going to go, you might as well get a lot of bang for your buck, and Eden Rock delivers! We stayed in the absolute cheapest room you could get here, and had a fantastic time. Of course the room is nice (albeit a little small for the price), well appointed, extremely comfortable, and a particularly nice bathroom. But the real perks are everything else that are included: free airport transportation, complimentary drinks during check in, a complimentary bottle of wine, included rental car, included breakfast, Evian & chocolate truffles for every nightly turn-down, and what I had least expected - included water sports. We borrowed paddleboards every day and routine cruised down St. Jean Bay past the airport and back again. For that and the rental car alone, we felt that we really got our money's worth at Eden Rock.

And let's not forget the pampering you get on the beach. As soon as you set foot in the sand, the attendants - which we ended up callling "beach concierges" - would direct you to a comfortable, towel-wrapped pair of lounge chairs, insist on opening the umbrella for you, and provide you two bottles of Evian. A lot of the services that Eden Rock provides like this make you feel like you're going to be hit with surprise charges at the end of your stay, but no, these are all included. They even let us stay in our room until 3pm on the day of checkout for free (of course, only because it was not booked that following night).

The other thing you have to take into account with Eden Rock is its location. Baie St. Jean is fantastic, but with your free car you are only a few minutes away from Gustavia, Lorient, Saline Beach, and more. And you absolutely must go to Saline Beach!

When we went to St. Barths we had intended it to be a once-in-a-lifetime splurge. But we had such a good time, we're definitely going to go back, and we're going to stay at Eden Rock.

“Second Visit Was Just As Good As First”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2011

My wife and I recently returned from our second visit to Eden Rock. Once again, it didn't disappoint. Service was attentive and staff was generally helpful in arranging dinners, answering questions and making suggestions. We stayed in a Garden Cottage (least expensive room) and think this is a good value after seeing other rooms. Only downside is that these rooms (4 of them) are right by breakfast/lunch area (steps from the beach) so if you want more seclusion/privacy pick a contemporary beach room or something similar. Also, if you are going to Eden Rock soon, you may want to check and see when the beach dredging in St. Jean is complete (looks to be very soon). That was the only minor annoyance during our trip. The dredging is not bad (and looks to be almost complete), nonetheless it would've been nice to know about this beforehand in case it affects your decision on where to stay, especially at this price point. Regarding dinner spots, somewhat surprisingly some of our cheapest dinners were our best. Eden Rock's restaurant remains very good (although not our favorite) but breakfast buffett remains great. We also returned to Le Gaiac and the food there is good as well although again not our favorite and can be somewhat stuffy. We thought L'Isola (Italian) was average and very expensive and this seemed to be a consistent experience for other couples we spoke to. For pizza and a laid back yet hip atmosphere, L'Entracte right on the harbor in Gustavia was excellent and a great value (actually went there twice); it also has a younger crowd. We were also very pleased with Santa Fe (laid back, quiet, casual), La Langouste (great lobster and dover sole, in a quiet atmosphere). We also spent some time at Isle de France, very nice hotel and Spa (Flamands beach is great) and a nice option if you are looking for something a bit more secluded than Eden Rock. Overall, we had another great stay and enjoy the central location of Eden Rock / St. Jean. We will return.

“Loved It”

Just returned from an anniversary trip to St. Barths. Split the trip between the Eden Rock and Le Toiny. As first time visitors we were glad we chose the hotel route instead of a villa. Our experience was great and consistent with the other very positive reviews of Eden Rock. We stayed in a Classic Rock Suite (414 - "the Reef'"). It is below reception and faces out from the rock - a very private deck and great room. We'd ask for it again or the DeHaenen Suite if available. Loved the hotel and location - easy to get to Gustavia and to explore the rest of the island. St. Jean beach is as advertised - spectacular and plenty (but not too much) action. Beach loungers and service were terrific. Particularly liked breakfast and lunch at the Sand Bar (the later always an interesting scene). On the Rocks is an unbeatable setting for dinner. Service at hotel a bit mixed but overall very good. Driver was waiting for us at harbour when we got off the ferry and we were greeted at reception with offer of champagne on deck overlooking the water. Hard to beat. Bottom line is that the Eden Rock delivered on high expectations - it is a really special hotel. We look forward to a return visit!

“Best hotel on St. Barths”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2011

My wife and I just stayed at Eden Rock for our honeymoon. We looked into every hotel on the island before going with Eden Rock. We were on the island for a week and had a chance to see every hotel that we looked into, including Isle de France. We were very happy we went with Eden Rock. We felt it was the best hotel on the island. Service, design, food, beach, rooms, etc....were all fantastic. My only complaint was the air conditioning in Waterlily wasn't working that well and for 1300 euro/night you expect things like that to work. Other than that, everything was perfect. I highly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Heavenly beach houses
