Great hotel with friendly staff. We stayed in one of the superior rooms, albeit perhaps the least private one #12, which overhangs the parking area so I would suggest staying in a superior room OTHER than #12 if you have a choice. Nonetheless the views are unbeatable here and we woke every day to cyrillian blue waters and breathtaking views and this was simply amazing. There is a fully-stocked kitchenette where we made breakfast every morning and ate in the outdoor terrace adjoining our room. It is also a 2 minute walk to the hike (another 20 minutes) down to Colombier Beach, the best beach in SBH in my opinion, and we often referred to this as "our beach" as it was the least populated of all the beaches that we went to and the most beautiful. The hotel is located on the western tip of St Barts, a bit away from the center (5-10 min drive) so a car is a must (but would be a must in any case as moving from one location to another is difficult in general in st barths if you are into exploring various beaches). We also used Gumbs car rental which was set up for us by the hotel - at 30 euros a day it beats taking cabs which cost about 20 euros for very short distances. Definitely get a car. It is lovely to be there and slightly off center so that you feel the tranquility of not being surrounded by people and other tourists which tends to be the case in the center of the island. And yes its true there are higher end hotels that don't have equivalent views or any views of the landscape at all. I highly recommend this hotel.
