“Great Hotel We'll Absolutely Be Back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2010

We spent 3 days in late August at the Manapany and will definitely be back. The hotel staff and management (family) were exceptionally attentive and accommodating. The room was very spacious, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant is excellent and a good value to boot. There were many other guests there but we felt as if we had the run of the place. We ate dinner in the restaurant and hung out at the pool bar at night. The next day the staff got us a rental car, and sent us off exploring the island beaches. The following day it was raining so we spent the day at the spa, which was excellent as well. When it was time to leave the owners drove us down to Gustavia to catch our boat.

There are lots of hotels on St. Barts, but if you want a comfortable, relaxing and family oriented atmosphere this is the place to be!

“Disgusting hotel”

This hotel was an absolute dump. We were checked into a room with a leaky ceiling, no electricity, and ants. This hotel was bug infested and was very unkept. Every morning we would wake up early to the sounds of roosters. The staff was unfriendly and sleazy. Do not stay here; it's a one star motel.

“Tired Old Room!”

Our ocean front cottage was dusty, moldy, dirty, filled with bugs and has not been updated in decades. The management was unpleasant and indifferent.

“NOT WORTH even HALF the price payed”

I went to the magnificent Island of St Barts to spend Easter Week for a couple of days relaxing in the beach. This hotel was a complete disappointment. We payed 700 $ per night and feels like an armed robbery. The room was tiny. To get there you had to walk up and down many stairs. The bed had extremely thin and hard as a rock mattress We shared the accommodations with. more than a dozen lizards. We had no water service for one whole day. When we contacted the front desk we were asked if we would mind to wait to the following day in order to get the service. We were advised by the personnel not to swim in the beach because of the dangerous rocks. The swimming pool was more like a jacuzzi. There was not 24 h front desk (This is supposed to be a 5 star luxury hotel). Could not leave earlier because of the early check out policy (whole stayed charged). No assistance moving the luggage to and from the car. The concierge disposition and knowledge of the activities and attractions were negligible. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY. We had the luck to find a room in hotel St Bath Isle de France and extended our stay the difference was more than night and day.

“great staff - shame about the hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2009

not an in-expensive spot to park ones self ,the hotel staff were very helpful , but unfortunatly as " natives" we met en route told us - great website - shame about the hotel
For the price , you would expect something special , unfortunatly , the superior sea view room was covered with vegitation , the mosquitos and bugs were everywhere , bathroom , deck , had to keep the windows closed , most of the hotel looked like it had on going repair work , and I felt like we had been tucked away in a quiet corner , and that the room had been sprayed with air freshener / bug spray moments before we arrived ,
The pool area is dissapointing too and looks like it needs referbershing, didn't want to even try the resturant or spa .
The beach was small, very narrow & dissapointing with a very rough surf , so swimming was out of the question .
If I felt like the hotel had been good value for its price , I would say so , unfortunatly , a very over priced hotel , with basic amenities , and there are many other islands and hotels that offer far more for less , or do not pretend to be something that they are definatly NOT !
again as I said before , the staff were friendly , and that is exactly where it stopped !
If you can find another hotel , or another island , save your money and go.
VERY overated
