Our party stayed here for a couple of days while waiting for the Haiku House to be ready.
This resort is a wonderful place. The small complex means excellent, personal service. I stayed in suite 3, which was clean and spacious. The furniture layout was somewhat odd, with the TV being mounted on a wall with no couch in front of it. The couch was on the other side of the room facing the window.
The bed was a tad firm for my liking, but it was heaven in comparison to the sofa bed, which I knicknamed "the crippler." Dreadful. It was comfortable as a couch, but the fold out bed was really a disappointment.
I agree with the other posters, the restaurant is the best on the island for lunch and dinner. I cannot say the same for breakfast, as that was the only place I had it. The pancakes were fantastic, however the french toast is something to skip, soggy and unappealing.
Excellent service began even before we arrived. Ferry arrangments were handled by the hotel, and a driver was waiting for us when we stepped off the ferry. Claire and her staff keep the hotel running smoothly and they were made travel arrangments and dinner reservations as a matter of course. The only concern that I would raise would be that the pool should be skimmed throughout the day. The location is windy, and with the pool only being cleaned in the early morning, it quickly becomes full of leaves, wasps, etc. I'm suprised there isn't a skimmer.
