We stayed at La Dunette in March 2009 (when the strike was still causing problems). It's a good budget place especially if you get one of the second floor rooms with sea view. The rooms are small but the view across the bay is sensational. At €95 a night with breakfast (not large) in the high season it's better value than many places around here but you'd still be better off finding a gite or other weekly let. The owner (and indeed the rest of the management team) veer unpredictably between very friendly and stand offish (in the case of Le Patron I suspect the amount of alcohol consumed at any one time has something to do with it) but what you really need to know in advance is that there are musical 'entertainments' downstairs in the bar virtually every night and these can be very loud and go on until midnight (though no later). If you want to get to sleep early then don't stay here. These 'entertainments' can be quite bizarre as the bar is filled by groups of French pensioners either on holidays out here or on long term winter lets and the music is chosen with them in mind. Some of these entertainments reminded me irresistibly of the infamous Chief Inspector Brian Zapatatique from Monty Python. Quite surreal at times and you won't get any idea of the music that Martiniquaise actually enjoy. The restaurant is not much good and, indeed, there's a shortage of decent places to eat in Ste Anne generally (it has by far the worst Italian restaurant I've ever been in - certainly any restaurant with an Italian chef) and the pizza place next door to La Dunette should be avoided at all costs.
