My 19th CM trip and 2nd to the Martinique club. The club renovations are nice, our room had a king size bed, couch, tv, safe, and nicely done bathroom with 2 sinks. Probably 90% French guests, We met only 1 other group of Americans. But there were English speaking Canadians and Europeans along with many of the GO's so it wasn't too difficult to have conversations with some others. The lack of Americans is probably due to the lack of airline service from the States. Expect taxi to cost 70-75 Euros each way. Set the price with the driver.
The bar area was fun (Stella Artois on tap), with snacks available. The shows at night were fine, but mostly only in French. Excursions were fine. Housekeeping and front desk attentive. Our activities were just lounging on the beach enjoying the beautiful scenery. We found the local staff to be friendly.
The food: Everyone has an opinion, but to me this was some of the best Club Med food ever! The dining rooms had tables of 2,4,8. I did notice how there wasn't someone to seat you at a table as I had experienced at other Clubs. One of the great things enjoyed at CM is meeting other people, and the dining room is always a good place for this. Maybe they can bring back the seaters again especially for single people.
Club Med to me is summer camp for adults, and I love it. If you like to meet people from around the world give it a try.
