I have been to Martinique in March 2004 for 2 weeks and stayed at
L'Imperatrice Village near Point de Bout (Trois Ilets).
L'Imperatrice Village is a two star hotel, it's simple, but the price is reasonable (€ 40 - 80 per day) and the surrounding is really nice. But if you decide to stay at L'Imperatrice Village I would recommend to rent a car, because it's a little bit off the track and the street leading to the resort is not well lighted.
The ferry to Fort-de-France is a 10 min walk away and to Point de Bout it's a 30 min walk.
It has 60 rooms in wooden, creole style, bungalows. 4 rooms built 1 bungalow. Each room has a bathroom with toilette and shower,
a small kitchenette with a big fridge and possibilty to cook, climatisation
and telephone, and a terrace with chairs and a table. The room has been cleaned everyday. Bungalows are situated in a nice garden. You can see humming birds. The resort has it's own small beach,
1 restaurant and 1 cocktail bar, and a swimming pool.
Breakfast is typically french, will say you get croissant, marmelade butter, coffee, tea, juice and fresh fruits, a little ham and cheese.
Breakfast time is from 7:00 am to 9:00 am!!!!
They offer only room, B&B or HB.
The staff was very nice, but I have to say I speak french which makes everything easier.
I really enjoyed staying at L'Imperatrice Village, because it's a quiet place, but if you like to have more life around, Point de Bout is near with it's restaurants, hotels, shops, bars and everything you need.
